Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cup of tea, sitting in my spot in the kitchen. I'd have still been asleep but there seems to be a million crows outside this morning, making a HUGE racket! The window and door are still flung open though.

The washer's on already, with a load of towels, and there are a few pots to be done. I want to clean the downstairs loo today - that's a quick "win" for feeling productive, and clear out the shit drawer in the kitchen. I'll re-pot Bert, the basil plant, too.

My dad's calling for a brew late morning ish. He's done some shopping again. I know he's bought strawberries so we'll have those for pudding with ice cream 😋

The girls dad is going to nip to Asda or Lidl for some fresh salad to go with tea, and then carry on doing a bit more of the back garden. It's looking loads better out there with a bit of regular attention.

Not a clue what the girls will be doing. Dd2 wanted to tidy the top of her bookshelf yesterday but then spent aaaages on video call with a friend playing with make up. Maybe she'll get to it today 🤷‍♀️It definitely needs sorting out!

I might carry on my crochet in between pottering about - it seems very slow going lately.

We're having gammon steaks for tea with salad and some sort of potatoes. They're huge though so not sure we need a whole one each! I'll have a better look in a minute, and then freeze the rest.

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning @lucysmam happy Sunday to you.

I didn't post on your Saturday thread as I've been wiped out with a weird sickness bug (weird as in although I have felt incredibly nauseous I've not actually been sick. I've just been achy, exhausted, couldn't eat or drink etc) but today I've had a miraculous recovery.

Came over poorly Friday evening but touch wood all good now. Yesterday was a lost day and I sadly missed seeing family who are passing through on their way back to New Zealand. Kids and DP were all unaffected so they went to visit said family (we had a whole gang of us get together) and left me to recover.

Now I'm feeling better it's a day of chores, homework, washing and putting the house back in order. DP is working but he'll take the kids for a bike ride later and I've got pizza express pizzas, doughballs, coleslaw and salad for dinner as I cba to cook a proper dinner. Love it when there is a 50% off Pizza Express in the supermarket. Although even that is now more expensive 😫

Early night all round as kids weren't home until 10pm last night.

I’m sitting in my living room, scrolling through MN and hoping DH gets back soon with dog as the bl…. clay pigeon club have started up near us and the dog’s terrified of loud noises. He was insistent that he’d be back before they started 🤬
I’ve packed ready to go away for a few days, it’s a residential art course, and got all my materials ready.
I have a splitting headache and am hoping it’s not a migraine, I’ve taken medication but it not kicked in yet. I’m sure 6 hours of gunshots isn’t going to help either!

Morning all

I was at Bruce last night so had a bit of a lie in while DP got up and walked the dog.

Ex asked me a few weeks ago to have DS2 today as he and DS1 are going to some golf thing so we’ve asked for DSS too and we’re now in the car heading down to the Brooklands Motor Museum (they’re both car mad!) - I imagine we’ll get a pub lunch later and then drop them both home.

Will have to keep in touch with the cricket throughout the day - Come On England!

If we do get a pub lunch I’m thinking cheese and crackers or a baked Camembert for dinner later.

Bit of work. Done some raking of leaves in garden. Have an adult son staying so been talking to him and he has been helping one of his younger brothers back up some stuff as the brother changed computers. They have gone out to play tennis so it's quiet again now. Dishwasher emptied. I was talking to some neighbours earlier when I was out at the front. Other son and girl friend get back from Devon tonight and older son will need a lift to the tube after lunch as he is going back to his home today; so the usual people coming and going here.

@ssd where abouts are you? We're considering a couple of nights away towards the end of the month

Aberdeen! Lovely big beach and nice walks. But probably too far for you!
