Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, with the window flung open so I can hear the birds. Everyone else is still sock on atm. Bliss 😊

I've done one small load of washing already that needs to go on the line for a while, and will put the second in in a mo. Hopefully they'll get a few hours out before it rains. There are a few pots to be done too, but not many so I'll do them shortly so they're out of the way.

We're off into town for lunch today - not a clue where atm. The restaurant I wanted to go back to closed on Monday with immediate effect 😢 I've been browsing menus online & have picked two potential places to try.

We'll more than likely end up at the bakery stall, and fruit stall as well - there's very little fruit left this week (unless you count the millions of apples my dad bought us - they're taking some getting through!) I want a clock for the kitchen while we're there, and we'll probably browse a few other shops.

I'm not sure if the girls are joining us, or going to town together, or doing their own things here 🤷‍♀️ Dd2 did say yesterday she thought they'd be heading to town, so we'll see when they get up.

Tea is likely to be a help yourself affair, or McDonalds for the girls, since we're eating out. I'll pick up some snacks of some sort for later on.

This evening, maybe another row or two of the top I'm crocheting, or maybe read some more of my book. Dd2's friend in the Netherlands is already on their summer holidays so they've been Minecrafting together more often, which is nice & means dd2 doesn't get huffy at me when she has "nothing to do" 🙄 She has plenty - she just doesn't do it 🤷‍♀️ .

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning all,

I slept like absolute shit last night, went back to bed at 8am and have just woken up and had to run to the toilet to be sick.

So my plans today have been swerved for a Netflix day. The new wham doc being first in the list!

NurseEssie · 08/07/2023 12:00

'I miss the days of being a mum to two DS and managing/coaching their football team on days like today. It was a reason to get up. Ah well, I'm so proud of the adults they've become!'

@OldTinHat I'm a mum to a 1 year old and am dreaming of a lazy morning and staying in bed!

NurseEssie · 08/07/2023 12:04

In Australia here so the day is behind me now.

I woke up just before DS(1) at 6am and watched the sunrise. Spent the day lazing around with the DS and my husband. Well actually am knackered now as DS is very active. Wanted to go to the zoo after DS's lunchtime nap but he woke up crying (teething).

Neighbour came over for dinner, husband cooked amazing crispy pork and potatoes. I ate so much feel sick now!

It's 9pm and lights out for us, baby will be up at 6am again Smile have a good Saturday everyone

Hope you feel better soon @golddustwomen. I can't wait to watch the Wham! doc myself. DD has promised to watch it with me so I'm just waiting for a night when we're both free.

I was on morning duty so got up with DS and did his homework. Just got back from gymnastics and having lunch, then he's allowed some time on his Xbox before we head into town and try to dodge the rain. BBQ chicken loaded wedges for tea with a few wines and the last two episodes of Ozark (yes, I am very late to the game!)

Good afternoon @lucysmam . I was up early to get milk and rolls. We have a 17yr old, a 12 year old and an 8 year old that all love their cereal!
Done the housework and have the washing on clothes horses outside. We have a tiny front garden and landlord won't let me put a washing line up.
I'm absolutely shattered- been a really tough week. I got a neurology diagnosis last week, just need to wait for an mri to confirm. There's a 2-3 month wait but neurologist has said she'll speak to her consultant colleague to try and bring it forward to 2 months.
I have very high blood pressure so am doing twice daily readings for a week.
Husband at work and he's picking up our youngest and I any minute now and we will help him maintain self catering properties. Made us a big picnic to take, Older 2 are on devices. My 12 year daughter is desperate to watch the women's world cup but we can't get it on any of the sports channels. She plays in our local under 14s girls football team. her coach described as a young maradonna at their last match!
Went cycling for the 1st time in years with my youngest yesterday evening, was fantastic being on a bike again. i got 3 free bikes from a carers' charity. I'm an unpaid carer for my 17 year old son.
Loved watching Andy Murray yesterday and will watch more tennis this afternoon!
Chicken linguine for tea. Husband will take older 2 to play football/ hit some golf balls. youngest and I will go on our bikes then I'm not moving for the rest of the night!
Hope you all have a great day!!

I’m doing a deep clean of my bedroom and en suite, have noticed a damp patch on the ceiling so also trying to track down a roofer to check where it’s coming from. Set the kids the task of pairing up all the odd socks - which seems to have turned into the Battle of Britain so will need to go and sort that out.

This afternoon I plan to relax and do some cross stitching.

@golddustwomen I hope you're feeling better soon 💐

Good afternoon :) did some chores this morning and took DD to dancing. Then we went to the library and to Clark’s to get her feet measured- feeling like a neglectful mum as literally all of her shoes are at least a size too small! She chose some sparkly light up trainers (thankfully managed to steer her to the £18 pair over the £50 ones) and I’ve ordered her some school shoes and wellies from Asda.

Just had sandwiches for lunch and currently chilling on screens. Supposed to be going to the park this afternoon but it is looking ominously grey!!

DH has a rare weekend off so he’s cooking us some roast chicken for tea tonight and will probably read his book while I catch up on love island.

Kim82 · 08/07/2023 13:26

Good afternoon all. I had a busy morning getting dd8 ready for her dance show today. I dropped her off at 10.30am and she’ll be halfway through this afternoon’s show now. I hope they’ve all done well!

After dropping dd8 off I had to pop into the office to pick up some bits that l left there by mistake yesterday then came home.

Dd18 has been at work since 12 and the rest of us are all just sitting around relaxing for now. We’ll have to get off our backsides soon to start getting ready as me, dh, dd15 and my mum are going to watch dd8 in her show at 4pm.

After that, dh is meeting his friends in town and me, my mum and the girls are coming back to mine and ordering a takeaway which should turn up pretty much when dd18 will get home from work so will be good timing. We’ll find a film to watch once the little one is in bed and I’m considering picking a bottle of wine up later but I’ve not decided yet.

I also need to spend a bit of time with dd18’s kitten before we go as I don’t want him being left on his own for the 8 hours dd is at work so we’ll all take turns to sit with him before we go out later.

Studying all day here today. My dad is down for the weekend so himself and my husband have gone off to the Lock Doctor and then to buy shoes 😱Son 14 has been on xbox all morning and daughter 11 is supposed to be tidying her room. Off on hols to the UK next weekend for 5 weeks so trying to get sorted for that too....

Eggsley · 08/07/2023 15:25

Afternoon @lucysmam and all!

We had football training this morning, with a couple of heavy showers and rumbles of thunder. Then nipped to the army supplies store near us to pick up a few last bits ready for DS1's cadet camp in a couple of weeks. Popped into Sainsbury's to pick up some lunch, we've all eaten now, so both DC are less grumpy. DH and I are watching the F1 qualifying, DS1 is upstairs gaming and DS2 is watching tv in the conservatory.

We had a late night over at a friend's house last night, so we are all tired this afternoon. We are going out for dinner to a new chicken restaurant near us - I think it's part of an American chain, the DC seem to know what it is and are very keen to try it.

Last full day of our holiday in Tenerife so been around the pool all morning then to the spa. Just had lunch and back to the pool for a bit before packing, drinks and dinner. So bloody relaxing!
