Yakult given to 2 year old

My Dad gave my 2 year old a yakult. It has live cultures in. Will he be ok? I know they do a kids range but according to their website the kids range isn't packed full of the cultures??? Not sure what this means

Anyway, has anyone given yakult to their toddlers before?

Your toddler has probably licked the floor and eaten dirt from the garden - I wouldn’t worry about it

TakeMe2Insanity · 06/07/2023 19:14

Seriously 😳? It’s like you two year old has had live yoghurt its healthy thats all.

noctiscaelum · 06/07/2023 19:21

My kid has been taking pro biotic since he was 2. In my country, many 2 years old drink yakult, so did I. They grow up fine, maybe actually healthier.

Quisto · 06/07/2023 19:29

When my 15 month old had an operation and subsequent antibiotics, I was advised to give him live yoghurt drinks to help restore his microbiome. He's 11 and fit and healthy.

You can give babies yoghurt with live cultures from 6 months.

MeinKraft · 06/07/2023 19:34

First baby by any chance?

Patronising, by any chance?

So what if it is her first baby perchance? Are mothers not allowed on Mumsnet until they have two children now?

2nd time rounders don't tend to be worried by a tiny bottle of revolting yoghurt.

Housekeeperbatcocoa · 06/07/2023 19:41

Your little one will be fine. 😊

Come on, you know you were being patronising and unsupportive. Just own it. That's who you are.

I have been using multibiotics for my DS since he was 2 months old. It's fine 🙂 Not sure of the strains in yakult etc but this is the ones I have been using.

LO will be fine, try not to worry about it.

No, it wasn't. The difference in worry between a first baby and a second is along the lines of my two;

#1 My child shall be vegetarian, EBF, only given organic, handprepared meals whilst swathed in organic cotton nappies and no morsel of disgusting sugar shall ever pass her lips until she's old enough to make her own choices (so around 18 when she went to university).

#2 Stop eating the kibble. The poor bloody dog looks like he's about to start crying, what with the bastard cats and now you tucking into it. Could you not have waited another month or so before learning to crawl?

Sleeepdeprived · 06/07/2023 20:18

My dr advised me to give it to my 8 month old daily when he was prescribed antibiotics so he’ll be fine
