Teacher gifts

If you buy teacher gifts as a thank you at the end of the year, what do you buy? Or what have you bought in the past?
If you don't, no need to say so, just looking for some inspiration.

I usually do a voucher - local cafe of teacher lives locally, cinema voucher /m&s voucher if they love further away from our village.

I teach, and I received a beautiful card this year which showed me the stuff I do is worthwhile and appreciated. It brought a tear to my eye and usually I'm fine with stuff like that.

Passing on any positive comments to the HT is always a winner. My old boss printed me a copy of a letter he'd received about me and if I ever have a low moment where I doubt myself I like a sneaky read at that.

I think a card with a nice message is the first priority. I usually get coffee shop vouchers but have also got chocolates/wine/handcream etc. I think small gifts and consumables are good. As lovely as keepsakes are 30 per year is too much. The card is the keepsake

I usually go with vouchers or gift cards, last year we also did personalized schedule calendars and it was a hit

I am afraid I am super boring and just give a nice bottle of wine and a note. I figure if people don't drink they have a decent bottle to regift.

We do class collections - everyone puts in €10, so it works out as a really generous voucher plus flowers or similar.

It's so easy to organise too - I do it for one of my DC classes & it's all collected via Revolut in minutes.

I used to teach and I have to say its cliche but homemade cards were the best, I've kept them all. Sometimes I read back through them and it reminded me why I gave so much of my time to the job, many happy memories.

The reality is that although of course you feel thankful and grateful that someone has got you a present (although there's zero obligation) there are only so many cups, keyrings and whatever else you can ever use! Vouchers are okay but again don't want parents to feel they're obliged.

We gave the teacher a book that hubby wrote and a handmade bag that I helped my son make.

House plants are very ‘in’ at the moment and not too expensive.

Sometimes I buy some stationery, because there's never enough along with a Costa voucher.

This year, my son has had a particularly great teacher who is leaving, so we've bought him something more personal (a Lego mini figure keychain-a character that both him and my son love) and a box of cookies (another in joke apparently).

Just a note about wine. Our school doesn't let kids hand over alcohol.

We do a class collection (all parents donate a set amount) and buy a voucher and a small gift and card. This only works if all of the class is in agreement.

I always make sure my girls also do a note/card and DH or I will also write something in it.

My better half is a TA and truly appreciates anything she is given (and at the end of the year it is a surprising amount). But I would say that she gets so many chocolates that we end up giving most away and we simply do not have space in the cupboard for any more mugs!! Homemade cards are definitely appreciated.

We do a class collection, everyone is in a fiver. My youngest has had 2 teachers this year. They're getting a voucher for the local shopping centre, bottle of fizz and a personalised cotton bag.

My eldest is finishing primary school. One of the mums had the idea of arranging afternoon tea for the whole teaching team to say thanks to teachers past and present. It was all cleared with the head teacher too. They also got big balloons, nosecco and a gorgeous bunch of flowers for each of the P7 teachers. That was a tenner each. Usually the teachers get a voucher for afternoon tea and fizz/chocolate.

I often do a hamper for the staff room too, tea, coffee, biscuits/sweets etc as a thank you for all the staff, not just class teachers.
