When's the last time you had a good laugh with your partner? Did something silly and fun?

Not a taat but it did make me wonder if there are people out there in happy relationships who never have any childish moments of pure fun with their partner and if that's actually the norm and not, like in my house, us pratting about like fools.

This morning. He gave me an eye roll and pretended I found it really sexy- I think you had to be there really.

We have a lot of silly in-jokes day to day, but the last time we DID something silly and random was probably last Friday night.

We went to visit friends, my OH smoked a bit too much weed and we ended up in mcdonalds at midnight to satisfy his munchy craving 🤣🤣

This won't go down well on MN but DH farted really loudly the other night and scared one of the sleeping cats so much she jumped halfway across the room from the back of the sofa then skidded off across the kitchen. We both laughed so hard we cried then started to cough and wheeze which made us laugh more. Dd1 actually came downstairs to see what was going on and indignantly rescued said cat while threatening to disown us.

This made me properly laugh out loud and I will tell my OH who will also LOL, because we find farts funny. 😂

You're getting murdered in your sleep by the cat, though.

He makes me laugh every single day. He is my light. We’ve had a rotten year with me being diagnosed with cancer days before my 40th birthday. He has been my rock and I think he’s the funniest kindest person in the world. We have lots of little in jokes and he just cracks me up. I see so many unhappy marriages described on mumsnet and despite everything, I feel very lucky.

That happens with one of our dogs it's so funny, he jumps up and legs it while looking back as if to say wtaf? 🤣

The thing about DH is that he's the one person I can laugh with about exactly the same things because we have all the same context.

The two of us were giggling about something truly awful today. we both know it was awful. We absolutely were not laughing BECAUSE it was awful but rather because we both immediately made the connection to something else.

If anyone else had been there, they would have thought we were truly awful people and explaining why we were laughing would have taken about 2 hours!

That's what I love about having a long term partner to share my life with.

Thank you for this thread. It has reminded me of something very important.

At the weekend, getting out the car at Aldi (oh the glamour)

I said to DH 'I've got the trolley token, you've got the bags'

And we both sang in unison

'lets make lots of money'

Oh how we laughed

Nice to know folks are out there having a laugh. In whatever way tickles you!

I'm not normally someone who finds farting funny but that cat story cracked me up!

A couple of weeks ago when we were about to enter a jewellers for me to choose a piece of jewellery for my birthday.
I had my hand on the shop door handle and I said to my DH ' I think I'd like a pearl necklace '
He was bent out of shape laughing, which set me off.
The jeweller's confused face finished us.
Anyone who knows the euphemism for a pearl necklace will understand 😂

Me and my DH have lots of fun together. He funny and I'm hilarious 😂

Skinnybluebody · 06/07/2023 18:46

Hubby and I laugh everyday, we have our own in jokes, just good times together. I'm grateful for the abs the laughs have generated 😁

ChocolateHelps · 06/07/2023 18:55

All the time. Stupid comments to each other while watching TV together...we're so funny we should be on goggle box!! (Our DC obviously don't agree 😂😉)
