Can you use job centre if you've got a job?

Just wondering this. DD is about to graduate and today returns from an internship abroad. She's got some work lined up on a long standing zero hours contract, but doesn't want to do that work long term. Ideally, she'd want a job suitable for graduates (and is pro-actively looking), but is prepared to do something that'll extend her skill range, probably office or reception based even on a basic wage.

I wouldn't bother, register with some agencies and look at grad programmes in her chosen field. She has missed this years round in most fields so will need to wait until they reopen again for 24

Thanks for your reply. She has signed up for some agencies and had a couple of interviews. Her chosen field is quite niche so not many grad programmes, but she's sent her cv off to local companies just in case. Just wants to get something better in the meantime.

I would suggest contacting National Careers Services - they will have a qualified careers adviser in her local area, they will be able to direct her or provide guidance..

She would be far better using her university careers service. Most offer careers advice for a number of years post graduation.
