What do you do with a visitor with extreme snoring?

My F is an extreme snorer. When he visits, he wants to stay with us because it's free. He would be welcome but he will literally keep the whole household awake more than half the night with snoring. That's tough when most people here have to get up and go to work in the morning, with next to no sleep for a full week. Would it be unreasonable to make him get a hotel for that reason alone?

I think I’d pay to out him in a hotel. Has he ever had his nasal tubes etc examined to see if anything is wedged up there? Tried those plastic things that keep your nostrils open? All of you buy those expanding foam ear buds so drown him out? I think you have to say none of us can sleep and he has to try elsewhere m. Perhaps record him if he’s in denial

He knows and won't do anything about it. My mother sleeps at the other end of their house with ear plugs in. Last time they did stay in a hotel but my mother says it doesn't work because he keeps her awake all night. I've offered to split the cost of the hotel but they won't accept that. I'm just worried if we all use ear plugs that we won't hear our alarms or if any of the animals need attention in the night. I sometimes have pregnant foster animals here and need to know if they are giving birth in case of issues.

Sounds like he might have severe sleep apnoea! It took me years to get DH to the GP. I even had to complete the form on his behalf! Its very dangerous and increases his risk of a stroke or heart attack. DH now has a cpap which is absolutely silent.

I'd say he needs to stay eleswhere till he gets it checked. Persuade your mum to book him an appointment as a first step.

He has major health anxiety and will not go to the doctor, so that's just not an option.
