NHS Band 3

Bit of a cheeky question but I'm wondering if anyone would be happy to tell me what the take home pay is for the bottom of a band 3 working full time.
I have an interview next week and although the holidays and pension is better I would be increasing my hours and I just wonder if the pay would make it worth the extra day.

It partly depends on where you live but the payscales are here - www.nhsemployers.org/articles/pay-scales-202324

Take home pay will depend on your tax code but there are online calculators to work it out

Take home calculators are pretty accurate. Put all info into it

So the reason I asked is because I'd go from £11 ph to £11.67 and increase hours from 31 to 37.5 and the calculators say I would get an extra £71 per month which really isn't worth it for an extra day a week.

That sounds correct to me I'm a band three and would say I earn around £70 per day

The calculator I put up shows a £210 increase on a 37.5 hrs contract compared to 31 hrs.

Are you in the NHS currently? If not, then £71 plus the excellent pension plus the holidays and sick pay is surely worth it?

I've worked for the NHS most of my life but after being made redundant from them 4 years ago I retrained and although I currently do NHS work I'm not employed by them so don't get any of the perks that go with the low pay.
I'm just trying to work out if the small monthly increase in pay is worth going full time for.

I think this depends on your circumstances.

Do you have children? Would you need to pay childcare/wrap round on the extra day you'd be working?

How do you get to work? Would the extra £70 be ate up in parking/bus fares etc

Can’t tell you bottom of band 3. But top of band 3 for me is £1589 a month. Thats after tax, NI, pension & £15 a month parking. Full time 37.5hrs a week.
