Do you think the unrest will have fizzled out by then?

Doesn’t look at all good in many French cities in the evening right now from the footage shown on channel 4 news.

If I was going I would look up the locations of the riots being reported and check on Google Maps if they were anywhere near the travel points/hotels on the route.

I’d go op

Although I’m surprised that apparently Spain isn’t reporting it at all in pp

Of course Spainish media is reporting it. Some people just like to make stuff up. It's a main story in both El Pais and El Mundo.

I don't think I'd go unless it calms down significantly.

Not tempted personally no, especially if I was travelling with children.

I'm a very seasoned traveller to some obscure destinations, and I have to say I'd proceed with caution on this.

Particularly with it being Bastille Day on the 14th. More opportunities for the riots to have another voice.

No, think about how long those yellow jackets protest went on.

My partner is French and watches the French news channels from here. It's worse than the Gilets Jaune protests when we were living there pre Covid. The night before last a local mayor just outside of Paris had death threats prior to his home being destroyed by a car filled with incendiary devices and his wife and children were injured trying to escape. This level of rioting and damage is unusual and it's a miracle nobody has lost their life as a result. Personally I'd wait and see if Macron declared a State of Emergency before making a decision.

Good point about Bastille Day Globules At least after that the holidays begin there and things might settle down. Rather depends as the rioters appear to mainly be disenfranchised youth who don't go on holiday.
