DS is the sweetest thing but he’s has moments of wildness. He struggles with transitions and gets so over excited - jumps around, makes noises. He’s so physical with everyone, always trying to grab at us and his sister, jump on us. He loves to wrestle and climb on things. He find it hard to listen and do as instructed. He can be violent and impulsive, but not at school or with friends.

However, he’s not like this at school. He’s not like this 1:1. He’s very sociable and chatty with an excellent vocabulary.

Does this sound like ADHD? It rings alarm bells for me. My sister has a diagnosis. I feel like adult female ADHD resonates with me and mum too, but obviously they are two different ends of the spectrum.

I’m not sure, there are parts of this that resonate with me - particularly DS over excitement, he also has amazing language. However I have lots of friends with boys and they are all a bit wild in different ways.

As far as I can tell it seems to be a bit ‘boy like’ and I would hold on the fact that if he doesn’t do at school or around friends then he’s probably fine and then decompressing in a safe space around you at home. However I guess this assessment would depend on severity etc.

Thank you! I feel like he is just a wild boy type. I just want him to calm down! He is adorable but exhausting when he’s at home.
