Pool depth

We’re getting one of those steel framed Bestway pools, i can’t have bigger than 10ft but I ideally wanted 1m deep so the kids (8 & 10) could properly swim in it. The 10ft is only 74cm deep, does anyone have this pool and kids of similar age - can they swim in 74cm? Thanks

74cm is quite shallow. It's more toddler pool level (toddler pool at local leisure centre is 75cm). I would say that an 8 & 10 year old could swim in it, not very gratefully. It would be more for soaking and floating around. To be fair, you can't really get swimming in a 10ft pool anyway as my 10 year old would be nearly half the length of the pool anyway, so can just poodle about a few feet. If it's just for soaking in, splashing about and staying cool though, it would be fine.

We have 4m by 2m Intex pool. It's up to my thighs and yes kids can swim in it. It's so fun

Yep we used to.have an 8ft one my oldest son was about.12_ at the time he couldn't really swim more than a stroke or so ,we had it during lockdown so he enjoyed floating around .

Thanks for the replies, think ive got to go for 10ft anyway, hopefully they’ll enjoy it even though it’s quite shallow.

Ours is 12ft and they can do strokes, just kicking around and aying on inflatables. Great fun though. Think its about 80-90cm deep.

Reviving an old thread … @Ivyside was the 74cm 10ft pool ok? It seems really shallow for my tall 7yr old who is already 124cm tall!

It depends what you want it for ,for splashing around on floaties, etc,it will be fine but if you want your son to swim in it he wouldn't be able to do more that a couple of strokes ,they can still be great fun but they have their limitations.
