I raised a grievance at work

So for almost a yr I've had issues with 2 colleagues who refuse to communicate or co operate.
I raised it informally and we had a meeting.
It continued to be an atmosphere and customers were concerned for my MH.
I told my line manager then when he didn't seem bothered I told the higher ups.
They had heard about the situation and disciplinary letters are being drawn up.
The meeting is Friday and I've been offered lots of other roles.
I will have to leave surely as the bullies will be worse after the meeting surely.?

I took my manager to a grievance and things improved massively for me.

Good luck. It was very stressful at the time.

whatisforteamum · 29/06/2023 19:56

Thank you.No one is speaking yet no one is criticising EVERYTHING either.
I had to do it at least for the next person.

Sorry you’ve been through this. It sounds very stressful. I can’t stand bullies in the playground or the workplace or anywhere else…

Don’t let them win if this is a role you otherwise enjoy. Hopefully the whole point of the meeting is to resolve this issue to ensure your colleagues start communicating and cooperating, otherwise they could face further disciplinary measures and maybe THEY will have to leave…

I would hold steady and see what happens after Friday’s meeting.

Don’t let the b%&”/:/s grind you down as they say…

Good luck!

Sit tight and we'll done on raising this! I know a great employment lawyer if you need one!

Good luck OP. We have a non team player who never communicates unless it's negative and doesn't fulfil his job roll. It got to a point where he told me to go fuck myself when I pointed out he wasn't contributing to the workload. He speaks to the boss like shit, but she has a thick skin and hates confrontation so has done nothing. I'm tempted to take it higher but haven't yet for fear of causing issues for myself.

whatisforteamum · 29/06/2023 20:04

I did raise it reluctantly after all options were exhausted.
I cannot stand gossips. The higher up person said they are gunning for the colleagues who have backstories.
I have never witnessed this type of behaviour in decades in the workplace.
Personally I would strive to include anyone who was different not seek to exclude them.

Pancake 678 that sounds horrible.
I understand the issues.I just reached breaking point when other people were noticing the behaviour.

Good for you. Well done.

They were crying! What did they expect would happen if they behaved like that?

Idiot.

whatisforteamum · 30/06/2023 11:29

Long time service so think they are irreplaceable.
Wrong.Miserable bullies have no place in customer service.
I tried to sort it out and ignore it.

We had the investigation and I was asked loads of questions and the case is bullying and harassment.
Then the others went in individually.
I was worried about repercussions yet I was actually included and spoken to.
My line manager was terse and snippy.
Now I await the letter confirming what is next.
Thank you for the replies it has been less lonely knowing I'm doing the right thing.

I went through raising a grievance, and my line manager was awful. Didn't uphold it as he claimed there was a lack of evidence - that being despite me sending him examples each time it happened.

I'm now working my notice and will skip away from a toxic environment where that sort of behaviour is tolerated.

IMustDoMoreExercise · 04/07/2023 18:05

Good luck OP.

Well done to you OP. I wish more people had your way of thinking. I would have done the same too.

whatisforteamum · 04/07/2023 18:15

Still hoping it doesn't backfire.I do have other options though.😁

Good for you Supreme.
I have loads of examples
.Shame really as I think groups fuel each other's behaviour.
Myself I try to be an independent thinker as I was bullied as a kid.

Sorry if I sounded like a smug arse with my comment @whatisforteamum . I'm really angry with how it all went with my grievance, and, in my case, I knew that I couldn't stay there working for that manager.

I've got another job to go to, but I'm actually sweating on it as I feel like I've honed my skills in dealing with bullies, to the detriment of my actual career!

whatisforteamum · 04/07/2023 19:05

No you don't sound smug at all.
In fact I can hugely empathise as my colleagues were treating me badly for the best part of a year.
It affected my personality and was destroying my self esteem regarding my work.
Funny how other people's opinions can grind us down.
