Is this possible or do they just write and ask a gp specific questions ?

Im just wondering as I have inaccurate information on mine that could cause issues and I’m just hoping they can’t access my full medical records anyway as I haven’t been able to get the wrong info removed yet

My child has an EHCP and I think they just ask you if there's been any SS involvement.

IPSEA have great guides on the process OP. I’d strongly, strongly recommend reading up and making sure you know how the process should work because it’s often not followed properly by local authorities.

EHC needs assessments

An EHC needs assessment is an assessment of a child or young person’s education, health and care needs

Poor you, that’s rubbish, your Mother sounds toxic AF.

Have been through two EHCP process and no one paid much attention to me at Lk other than to note we were in their key people list and the briefest of mentions about home set up.

However almost everyone knows I had an issue with serious anxiety due to my thyroid going wonky. Never comes up in any context. EHCP focuses mainly on needs in the educational setting. We do a review every year which involves a one hour meeting.

Good luck with it, it is pretty painless though.

Well you asked the question 'why would someone do that', and that is the answer

If you dont believe OP, well thats another option, perhaps they are in denial like you say but its not unknown to me that people give false details and relationship information when presenting to hospitals/A+E, I see it a lot

I don’t know the EHCP process ? I was told part of it is by social services ?

As for the reason DM would want that - dais was the ‘golden child’ and ‘perfect’ and there have been multiple attempts to sabotage my reputation this just seems like another

Social services will only be asked for information about a child for an EHCP needs assessment if they are already involved with the child.
The only way your own medical records might be requested would be if there are concerns about you in terms of your ability to parent your child safely. I have applied for many EHCPs, and although some of them have had SS involvement, none of them have required parents medical records. Even when 1 parent was extremely mentally unwell.

I have never had ss contacted for ehcp. Also an issue 15 years ago don't think they would care about unless still current.

BillieShears · 28/06/2023 19:10

Did you have a thread about this a long time ago? I remember this exact scenario.

Go to the police. She impersonated you and that is illegal. The police will investigate hopefully and her scars will make it obvious it was not you. I would be livid if my mother and sister colluded to do this to me. Livid and would never speak to them again.

I’m getting close to this if I can’t get anywhere with my current attempt with the ICO that’s the only thing left I could do

The police wont investigate something like this.

BillyBraggisnotmylover · 28/06/2023 19:52

There’s a bit of misinformation on this thread. Social services don’t only provide information for an EHC needs assessment where there has been previous involvement. They don’t have to do a full child and family assessment but there should be some kind of assessment. “Child not known” is not an appropriate response to a needs assessment request because there is a statutory requirement to obtain social care advice and information.

eatdrinkandbemerry · 28/06/2023 19:59

Honestly they write to ss as part of the ehcp process but unless you've had allegations about your parenting ect nothing is discussed.
We waited 8 weeks during our sons assessment for ss to finally respond with one sentence "this family is not known to ss"

Goldenbunny · 28/06/2023 21:46

Caramelbueno · 28/06/2023 18:30

And I would never have known about it but for the fact I applied for insurance . It’s just worrying me now as we have to have a SS assessment as part of the EHCP process for one of the dc and I wasn’t sure how much they look into things ?

Looking at the paper work from my son's echp I can see that the social worker put family not known by us and they have had no input with ds Echp I didn't even know they where contacted until I was reading all the reports. So I don't think they will go checking out your medical records.

bellac11 · 28/06/2023 21:49

No, we usually write family not known or no involvement.

In order for an 'assessment' it would require the parent to consent to an initial assessment, its unnecessary and intrusive if there are no social care needs or concerns and there hasnt been a CP or CHIN referral.
