Holiday resorts and special needs?

Hi everyone, I’m just wondering if anybody has some tips to make life easier when you stay at one of these all inclusive hotels are one of these resorts. I had posted the other day about inflatable‘s in the swimming pool, this one does actually allow inflatable‘s, and I really wish I had brought mine now. I might have to go and find some thing. But how do you manage things like crowded areas, noise etc.? I asked the lifeguard when the pool is less crowded, definitely not right now ha ha Ha. I have actually seen another guest with a family member in a wheelchair and he is nonverbal, I wish I had spoken with her. This place is in Greece, across the road do you have cafés and a very difficult beach to navigate with some pontoons that you can climb into the water from. As I am nearly totally blind, I don’t think I will be doing that on my own. But I was brave enough to go onto the pontoon earlier.

it’s tough, because a self catering holiday for me can be hit and miss, depending on the area and depending on the Airbnb host of the organization host.

I find people are quite helpful though and they try their best. I’m just wondering if anyone has any ideas that I might have not tried yet that work for you.

Have you tried asking at the reception centre f there are any members of staff who can help you?

Does the hotel have its own shop that sells inflatables?

For another holiday would you consider a cruise as they are very good for people with special or additional needs?

Far too hot for me, the only thing is, I am on my own and I have heard some horror stories from blind people traveling alone who aren’t allowed to board the cruise for that reason., Otherwise, I would love to. I asked the Hotel where the mini market was, and it’s across a very busy Central Road, which I can’t cross alone. They did tell me there’s a coffee shop behind the hotel that is open 24 hours, I don’t know if they will sell inflatable‘s but I might try my luck just in case. They did tell me, and I did find the Chinese shop which has many different things in it so they might have them as well. By the way for anyone reading this, because I was searching, I came across a hotel on Crete that is accessible and it seems to be a small hotel with only a few rooms. I think that might be my next trip.

I will post the link, but I don’t know if it will open, I can’t remember how to do it. The name of the hotel is the eria Hotel.

How about a cruise, they offer help boarding, orientation with a member of staff and information in Braille. Many allow assistance dogs

Hi OP, we are a family of people with a variety of special needs. I’ve no useful advice for where you are but you may want to consider this place for the future. It’s highly recommended by my parents who have a variety of challenges. Having staff who understand you may need assistance and are there to help really makes a difference. https://www.marysol.org/hotel-resort.php?lang=en

Thank you for the link, that looks very good as well. I have a big birthday coming up, and I’m trying to decide what to do, but being alone, it is a challenge but I really want to enjoy myself and not have to worry about taking the lifeguards attention away from the mini children in the swimming pool, and having to worry about running into the many children playing ball in the swimming pool, or being hit by the ball in the swimming pool… I just want to have fun without the worry. And it does get very tiring, especially when you have sensory issues as well. I’m in the room early, having my dinner and I’m just going to put on some movies and chill out.

Also how about a seable trip, they cater specifically for the visually impaired
