Venitian blinds, vertical blinds or privacy film and curtains?

I'm moving soon and can't decide.

I've always just had curtains and some sort of voile/net or the 2 way privacy screen but the current tenants don't have any curtains just venitian blinds.

They look nice but alot of them are broken, some are a bit wonky (she got them done years ago)

What are the pros and cons to each?

I just can't decide.

I was considering curtains and privacy film again but that's a lot of curtain rails to put up

We have privacy film and curtains and it works really well. Loads of light gets in but you can't see out or in. Great when you live in a terrace and everyone gawps through windows as they walk past 👍🏻.

I have venetian blinds in two huge bay windows and they look lovely but ...get up close and they are absolutely filthy and really hard to clean!Once you start cleaning them you have to keep going. If anyone has a top tip I would be interested to hear.
Am tempted to go back to curtains but will cost a fortune!

Ooh that's nice. See I have the one where you can see out but people can't see in but once the sun goes away they don't work, so maybe the frosted would be better. Would stop the dogs barking at people going passed to I think.

That's what I'm thinking too! The cleaning and the upkeep. I think I'm just too lazy for them 😂

We have Venetian blinds in the kitchen and they are so hard to clean (so filthy Blush) and constantly get stuck if you try and adjust them. If it were up to me and not the landlord I'd get rid of them and have a roller.

I love the film in the living room, it's simple, does the job and looks nice and much cheaper than blinds.

I like shutters.
Vertical blinds scream 'office' to me.
Problem with film is you can't see out - unless you were on the High street I'd hate that.
Venetian blinds are fine too - yes they need cleaning but even I can manage that and I'm pretty messy.

In our new property we are going for privacy film and roller blinds.

I can't afford shutters.

Was quoted £1600 for one room. That's more than my budget for the whole house 😂

Agree that vertical blinds are too institutional.

I'd opt for new venetian blinds or roman blinds.
