My 26 year old DS recently moved back in with me following a relationship breakdown. He's had a rough few months but had a job interview today and they offered him the job within a few hours! He is over the moon and it's already done wonders for his confidence. I'm so proud of him Smile anyone else got good news however small?

That meant to say DS

Zofloraqueen27 · 27/06/2023 21:06

Up with this - what a wonderful caring mum you are. It is said we are only as happy as our unhappiest child - this is so very true as I know only too well from personal experience. You deserve to be happy and I am so glad you are. Your son is a very lucky man and I hope he meets someone soon to love if this is what he wants.

OhDoh · 27/06/2023 21:10

Aww yey! So glad for your son. This will be a great new start for him and you sound incredibly supportive OP 🥰My DS 3 has finally achieved potty training in the last couple of days.. honestly it's been a long road 😂.. I literally am so happy/proud when he tells me he needs the toilet 🤣🤣

Upwiththisiwillnotput · 28/06/2023 22:28

@Zofloraqueen27 and @OhDoh thank you, - potty training seems a long time ago but yay well done!
My DD is also coming back from Uni on Friday and hoping to start working in the film industry, I will have a full nest again. Lots of changes ahead but I'm feeling really positive for the first time in ages.

What great news for him, this will be a great boost for him & a fresh start, I love hearing about good things!

My isn’t technically good news but I’m super proud of myself because after 3 weeks (in between working/looking after my dd etc) I’ve managed to paint, wallpaper & out a new blind & shelf up in myDD’s room, working every spare hour, into the night & every sat while she’s with her dad & I’m finally done! The garish pink unicorn room is gone!

The wallpaper def looks better in the dark, the blind is partially superglued & the shelf is missing a nail but it’s done!

Upwiththisiwillnotput · 28/06/2023 23:10

@Verysadatwork how amazing for your DS, I hope he has a wonderful time!
@Lesina Dan is very handsome indeed but I now have 'my lovely horse' from Father Ted stuck in my head Smile

Congrats on having your lovely son close to you again and best wishes to him in his new job! How lovely.

I got a research paper accepted for publication today. I've been in the doldrums in terms of output so this is great for me :)

Upwiththisiwillnotput · 28/06/2023 23:16

@StarDolphins I can't do any of those things, well done!

😂😂😂😂…. Does it help that I am Irish?

Upwiththisiwillnotput · 28/06/2023 23:23

@ pinklazyapple amazing well done!
In other news I had a meeting at work today that was actually productive and may help to solve a problem lots of us have been wrestling with, will be a huge relief if we can get it sorted.

What lovely news! My ds 3 ( suspected ASD) counted to 2 today, he counted 2 toy cars so proud of him!

SandraTeaspoon · 29/06/2023 00:31

Well done! Great news Smile

Cherrymuffincake202 · 29/06/2023 00:47

That’s brilliant op! Very happy for your son and for you because it’s such a worry when they get knock backs at that age and you can no longer protect them. And the early to mid twenties is the time when it all starts getting serious with housing and jobs and relationships etc.

wanttokickoffbutcant · 29/06/2023 00:55

to all of you 👍
