What's the best part of a carvery?

I rarely eat roast dinners, perhaps 3x a year at most but I'm really craving a carvery now. I know it isn't really the weather for it but I'm craving one regardless.

What's the best part of a roast dinner/carvery for you?

I'm going to be controversial and say all the veg especially cauliflower cheese. I don't get the fuss over roast potatoes though.

@OnTheRunWithMannyMontana a nice independent restaurant with table service.

There's a carvery place not far away that's probably £12.99 but you have to queue for your food and the meat is poor quality. Well it was the one time we went. The chap in front decided to try all the gravies finger in, lick and back in the next one. It wasn't pleasant.

I do not like carvery as I prefer my own but roasties and gravy are my faves.

Cauliflower cheese fan here too! Our local carvery does a fab one.

The food is never very good but it saves the job of cooking and washing up. My local does pigs in blankets all year round

Favourites (in order of preference) for me are:
beef - must be pink, and plenty of slices, not just 2 measly slices
yorkie - must be crisp but not rock hard
roast potato - crisp on the outside, fluffy in the middle
gravy - tasty and thick - not just Bisto
veg - al dente, not soggy
stuffing - more than a teaspoon sized piece please

Roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, crackling and unsweetened apple sauce if pork, and horseradish sauce strong enough to blow my sinuses to smithereens if beef.

AIBU to be freaked out that I just got an ad for Toby Carvery on my Facebook feed when I never go to carverys and yet I commented on this thread?

Well that's completely different to what OP is talking about.

Table service and now queuing to choose your own food is a nice (although still very pricey) Sunday lunch out. It's not a carvery.

Ewwww to dipping fingers in the gravy 🤢
