1 of a set of 4 pillowcases has gone missing between the washing machine and the washing line. I've looked inside the duvet cover, in the washing machine. Under and around the bed in case I dropped it when carrying the load to the machine. Under the protective cover I threw back on the bed (the dogs lie on it) in case I missed it.
Then I checked around the house, under the sofa and in the bathroom as we have a 9 month old cockapoo who steals and moves stuff. I checked the garden because it's quite windy and light stuff bowls down the garden (lost a beanbag once).
Then I checked the places you sometimes put stuff randomly when you're menopausal, so I looked in the rooms I haven't been in, the tumble dryer I haven't opened, the washing basket which is empty, and in the fridge.
Does anyone know how to do that thing where you summon the universe to find stuff, or whatever it is? How does one lose a pillowcase without trace???
