loop ear plugs

Just wondering if anyone has these for helping to be able to hear conversation/block out background noise.

The loop engage claims to do this, but hoping someone here has them and can advise if they find they help at all.

Whenever I'm in an environment with background noise, I find hearing people talk a bit tricky. I'm working in such a environment so am having trouble of anyone is a bit away from me (others are not struggling, so I know it's me)

Thanks

DD has them for school as has ADHD and gets distracted by noise around her. Loves them - she can hear the teacher near her but not all the other stuff

I’m curious as well . Place marking !

Have seen these recommended so much by mums who get sensory overload from kids screaming etc.

Which loop ones , I think there are a few types ?

drawingmaps · 23/06/2023 00:15

Yes, they work pretty well

My dd has these they have been a god send and got her through the last couple of years of primary school.
She has the quiet ones to allow her to concentrate.
They come with 3 different sized ends so they are a great fit.
We tried others but these are the best!

@MoiraRoseForever I'm looking at getting the engage ones

Thanks everyone. I might give them a go...

I've been looking at these too. ASD and struggle with noisy environments.

msmonstera · 23/06/2023 08:55

I've been looking too- which type work best for high-pitched screeches? (Work colleague...)

WhisperingAutistic · 23/06/2023 09:08

I've ordered the quiet ones for at home but I'm interested in peoples opinions on the other types.
Same as you OP, I struggle to hear one person talking when there are other voices. I've just started a part time job in a primary school and I am really struggling to hear one child when other children are being loud.

I've got some, the Experience. I don't wear them for work or daily life at the moment, but I wear them to gigs and festivals and they're brilliant, recently I had them in for 11 hours straight and they were really comfy, didn't hurt my ears at all. I could hear people closest to me really well. I'd definitely recommend them.

StillRunningWithScissors · 23/06/2023 15:43

@UnwaxedLemon thanks that's really helpful

@WhisperingAutistic it's hard, isn't it? I'm tired of asking people to repeat themselves or having to walk over to hear them. Hoping these help a bit

I have the quiet ones - in fact two pairs as I have ADHD and I can't bear if I need them and can't find where I have put them down! Brilliant for taking the edge off background noise when I'm trying to WFH.

The engage ones look more what you are looking for. They offer 100 day money back guarantee, so I'd try them knowing you can return them.

Brefugee · 23/06/2023 21:12

I've just bought some for DD for her birthday so reading this thread with interest

ConsideringAnything · 23/06/2023 21:19

Both me and my child have the quiet and experience pairs. We love them so much we bought 6 pairs!!! We attached them to all our car and house keys, on handbags/bags and then in key points across the house - to make sure we can get to them when we want them.

Child uses them for nosie sensitivity and when feeling overwhelmed. I use them in supermarkets/restaurants when I struggle to hear with background noise.

Genuinely good, but would recommend buying one pair to try first as a friend tried them and hated the 'deadened' sound

I was looking into getting these but ended up getting flare calms as they were cheaper and had better write ups. I love them and wear them all day whilst teaching. Can hear my kids talking to me etc but they take the edge of off group work and they are all taking at once. Also help with talk in echoy rooms as that noise makes me feel physically sick. Means I can stay in assemblies now I use my calms!

My 8yr old uses the kids flare calms and loves them.

My sister does use the loops and loves them ☺️
