Am I ever likely to have another period?

Hi all, guess this is a question for older mn-ers. So I'm in late 40s, periods dwindling away for a couple of years. Last proper one June last year. A few extremely light ones (don't even know if I'd call them periods really) since.

I think I am now technically post menopausal(?) I don't mind, the perimenopause has been difficult but should I bin the sanitary ware now?

Your shared experiences are welcome.

It needs to be longer than a year, even if you're over 50. I know that's not what's in the textbooks, but women's bodies don't always follow the rules. I had my periods come back after over a year of no periods. Twice! They seem to have stopped now, at age 55.

I'm counting from my last "was it worth it" pink spotting, which was May last year. If I counted from my last, what I would call a proper period, then I'm well and truly post-menopausal. I still have provisions in my handbag just in case.

As I understand it, the clock resets each time you have a bleed and "was it worth it" pink spotting is counted as a bleed.

My granny had a random period in her late 70s (confirmed by her GP) so that's always something to look forward to Confused

I went for twelve months without, then had an unexpected period from hell.

I'm 57. Mine stopped over about 3 years at about 50 but I had been having peri menopausal symptoms fir a few years before that.
