What can I buy my son for £100?

Someone has sent me £100 on amazon to spend on a gift for my son. It has been sat there for ages and I just don't know what to get for him! He's 4, has a fair few toys but would like to get him something that's actually going to get used. Does anyone have any ideas/things they've bought their children for a similar price that have gone down a treat?

Something he can use in the garden? Maybe a slide or similar to keep him entertained.

Great idea but my garden is so tiny (the size of a box room) otherwise this would be perfect!

Lego?

Outandup · 18/06/2023 21:37

Bike / scooter
Lego
Playmobil
Paddling pool (a decent-size/quality one)
Outdoor toys like Swingball, football goals, slide, sandpit, sand and water table
Marble run
magnetic tiles

A Yoto box and some cards? My four year old loves his.

HalleLouja · 18/06/2023 21:38

Lego?
Something he could play with inside or outside?
Some books to read with / to him?

TeaKitten · 18/06/2023 21:38

Marble run or kapla blocks? Stand alone basketball hoop for the small ourdoor area maybe.

Water table could be good for a small garden. Or a bike or scooter.

Ohthepressureofaname · 18/06/2023 21:39

We have a splash pad in our garden, it’s got a small footprint and folds up small, just need a tap/hose to connect it to. Otherwise scooter?

This is a good idea. My DC love theirs

A bike?

Hellocatshome · 18/06/2023 21:40

Balance bike/ bike depending on ability

Swimming lessons, with a swim bag, towel, trunks and floats. You could get some of that on Amazon!
Books.
The Playmobil refuse truck always seems to go down well, maybe with some other Playmobil stuff.
A garage, and cars.

Thanks everyone, looking at all the options but please keep them coming! Lego is the front runner. Bike would have been but he's on a pedal bike which will last him a while! Wish I had the space for a paddling pool

Lego is a great idea as if you buy some of the mixed boxes it will last for years as he can built different sets as he gets older.

whatsinanameeh · 18/06/2023 21:46

Summer pass to soft play centre?

whatsinanameeh · 18/06/2023 21:47

Sorry meant to say buy the Amazon voucher off him

I shop with Morrisons on Amazon and I would just give my kids 100 quid and use the voucher myself

Majoree · 18/06/2023 21:53

At that age, the best toys we had were a marble run and a huge box of Lego duplo - both lasted for years and all 3 dc loved them.

We have found Lego / duplo second hand for bargain prices, so not sure I'd buy it new now though.

Magnatiles are awesome, yoto player also a big success here.

Wobbell boards are really popular though we never got on with ours.

Numicon are really useful but not so fun but could get that and some games?

A stack of board / card games & some books

An instrument or you can sets of instruments inc drums, bells, triangles, rain sticks etc

Brio or equivalent wooden train set, with a few battery operated trains and features like bridges/ crossings/ mountains/ tunnels. My four year old got so much play out of his! Otherwise our water table was also very well loved, as was his scooter at that age.
