Bedbugs - HELP

I stayed in a B&B last weekend and coming back home on the Sunday I started itching on my arm. That evening the itching got worse and worse and by the following morning I had bites all over my hand too, especially on my knuckles. Then my other arm started getting itchy too. As it's hayfever season I initially thought it was a reaction to pollen but then I thought back to the B&B and realised to my horror that it might be bedbugs. I'm now absolutely covered in bites 😭 I put my handbag, which is fabric, on the floor and a little round beetley thing crawled out from under it and sure enough it did look like a bedbug. I've looked online and it seems the only way to get rid of them is by paying a professional pest control service to kill them. I really can't afford this! Is there any other way to get rid of them? I have been waking up with new bites so I think they must now be in my bed...
I have been bagging up loose clothes in my house and putting them in the garden but the house is messy and there are clothes everywhere! Also my bed barely fits in my room so I don't know how I could try and locate them. Kids come into my bed during the night sometimes and today I noticed a few bites on them as well. Any advice at all would be welcome. I feel so horrible. Thanks!

I am so sorry, OP. What a pain. This was me 18 years ago.

I think the main thing is to figure out where they're nesting and living to do cycles of treatment: I remember how they loved the soft wood frames of IKEA furniture. It seems rubbing alcohol is the internet hack of choice right now. I wish I'd known this back in the day!

With bedding: hot wash and dry. Or bag up and freeze. Or bag up in a black bin bag and leave out in the sun for several days. They're tenacious little buggers but nonetheless there are ways :)

Thank you, I will try and just leave everything in the garden in bin-bags. I can't believe how bad the bites are, so much more itchy than mosquitos or midges 😭

Get some Insectrol spray - spray everything & go out for a while.

Dermataceous earth over the carpets and leave for days. Mattress covers. Got wash and bag clothing, bedding etc. strip furniture frames and squish any lurking in the cracks.
