First summer holidays and just trying to plan them out. Conscious that we often end up doing too much the last couple of break with DC ending up rally tired. How many days per week do you usually have plans i.e. playdates, days out versus just pottering around the house and maybe going to the library or something? Worried that they'll get bored but also dont want to overdo it as per usual.

Really depends on your kids and how much they like to be out? But as an example, our plan over the summer holidays (with 6 and 8 year olds) is pretty much:
Mondays: potter at home
Tuesdays: go to a playground/beach etc either just us or meeting friends there
Wednesdays: potter at home
Thursdays: invite friend over
Fridays: potter at home
Saturdays: swimming just us
Sundays: family/friends come for Sunday lunch

We do a real mix but due to work have to use some holiday clubs.... luckily DDs love it!

So during the week it's

2 days of holiday club.

1 day of having a playdate and we alternate our house/their house. Quiet day other than that.

1 day of quiet pottering at home....crafts, playing in the garden, just chilling and watching TV. I try not to worry too much about screen time as they do need a break and to just relax.

1 bigger trip out (farm park, cinema, swimming, museum etc) I don't have the funds to do this more than once a week anyway.

Then the weekends we have another quiet day at home or just popping to the park or for a bike ride and one day where we'll go out but try not to spend too much money (maybe pop to a café just for a hot chocolate, or go to the library, or visit friends and family.)

I find if you over-schedule, although it is tempting then everyone is tired, nobody gets a proper rest and you end up spending a fortune!

We plan something every day but it doesn't have to be too big - a trip to a nice park with a picnic is fun and easy. My dc are used to it and don't get over tired. We'd probably only stay home if we needed to stay in for a plumber or if the weather was really awful.
