Year 7 Parents Evening - to bring DC or not?

We’ve got our first in person Year 7 Parents evening coming up (the previous parents evening was a virtual one).

For secondary school parents evenings, is it the done thing to bring the child along?

We generally didn’t at the primary school ones but I’m wondering if secondary school’s different, as the kids are getting more independent.
We’ve got a relative coming over to keep an eye on the younger DC while I go to the parents evening so we’ve got the option of DC1 staying home from a childcare POV.

I take my children along, the teachers instantly know who they are taking about so it helps.

Ask the school- I did and they said children should attend to hear the feedback first hand.

We had our first one recently... most people had their child with them.

We had to take them to Primary school from Yr5 as well.

As a former Y7 teacher I would say take them. It helps because the teacher knows that what they have said he been understood by the pupil, and not got lost in translation and it helps them to start to become accountable for their own education. If there are targets the pupil needs to meet, particularly concerning behaviour then it’s good if everyone is on board.
