Leaving a sippy cup in cot with baby at night?

Hi,

For the last couple of nights I've left a no leak sippy cup with water in my baby's cot.

She was waking up at night for feeds still but since doing this she's been happy to take water for herself and go back to sleep. Honestly it's been such a relief not having to wake up twice a night so I think she's been thirsty and that's what's made her uncomfortable. Especially with the hot weather.

But I'm wondering if this is okay to do? I've googled (I shouldn't have) and it said their are risks like chocking and drowning?!

So I'm just wondering if anyone else leaves a sippy cup with water at night, or is it a big no no?

My LO is 14 months old.

Yeah its best not to do it. I won't risk it with my son. I'd rather go in his own if he wakes up thirsty than take the risk x

I wouldn't personally. But i know others who have.

I wouldn't. 14 months is still young and I think night wakings are still to be expected at this age.

I did with mine from about 18 months old. I always wake up thirsty in the night so I would expect my children to, and they liked having their drink with them.
