Do you tell the Dr you have been using Dr Google?

I've been having a bit of a rough time with my health lately then I heard of a certain condition and went hold up that's me. I researched it some more and it is a pretty good fit. I've a real life Drs appointment on Thursday and I'm debating whether or not to tell the Dr I've read about this what do you think or do you just list your symptoms and see what they come up with?
I don't want to come across like some kind of silly whatever but at the same time my Dr has a history of just nodding along, taking bloods then I never hear from them again unless I go back and here(Ireland) we pay for all of our visits so that isn't ideal.
So do you go in armed with Dr Google info or do you just trust that they have a medical degree and you don't amd let them get on with it?

Yes especially with 1 of my dcs. Often the gp has googled it too and agreed. More treatment wise than diagnosing

Maybe list your symptoms and see what your doctor comes up with first? If he doesn't mention the thing you and Dr Google think it may be, then put it forward as a possibility and see what he says?
Have you just used Google or have you uses a symptom checker app? (Google will come up with several options for symptom checkers) I found the symptom checker apps to be pretty accurate and my doctor came up with the same dignosis as the app.

It’s fine to say ‘could it be this?’ and say you’ve been googling. I’ve even known Drs ask patients what they think it might be, especially younger Drs. At least then you can be either reassured that it can’t possibly be X, or you can then be tested for X.
Re blood test results, can’t you just phone for results so you don’t have to go back and pay to hear them in person?

Yes. Had a long chat about Dr Google with a consultant last week. He said that it was a relief that google had told me that I needed to be pragmatic about the outcome.

My DH was told by his consultant that he had written the US website (a major US cancer centre) that by DH had found through google (it is a really really rare condition- a handful of people a year in the UK)

Yes, I’d tell them my history generally and that I wondered if it might be this thing because X. It will only annoy them if you do it in a hypochondriac way.

Can you switch to a more dynamic Gp also. ?

I would be happy saying that I had been on the NHS website.

Oh I didn't know there was a symptoms checker app, I will try that! I think I will list the symptoms then if they don't say hmmm maybe this, I will speak up.

I think I'm just a bit worried that they will think I'm a hypochondriac because I was in about joint pain quite a bit over the past year and xrays/blood tests found nothing, I'm waiting for an mri for that but it will be ages before I get to the top of the list. Now I'm going back with a whole list of symptoms some of which sound quite serious.
