Activities for a seven year old and a two year old

DD is 7 and Ds is 2. Does anyone have any brilliant ideas on how to keep both of them entertained at the same time outdoors and indoors?

DD is quite decent at entertaining herself but it would be nice if there were more things we could do together. They often like the same things but with stuff like blocks or Duplo the 2 year old basically ends up destroying what the 7 year old has built or he wants exactly the item that she is using at the moment. Also he's not great at taking turns or has brilliant comprehension...

Things that seem to work well are balloons (as long as we've got lots (!!!) of balloons) and dancing, which both of them love. Anything else?

Thanks for all the great ideas.

Anything else for when we are at home? (Inside the house or in the garden?)

One of the problems we have specifically apart from the different level of interests and capabilities is that with anything that involves objects Ds wants to grab immediately what DD has (even if he has exactly the same thing).

i have the same difference OP! And the same problem… do let me know if you find anything thank works 😊
so far the only thing they have been doing nicely together is swings in the garden (older pushes younger one) and water play table. Also, I have been trying to show my older son how to play with the toddler properly and that seem to entertain them both for about 15 minutes.

Have you tried kinetic sand? It’s great!

Apart from that, I’d agree garden water tables are also a lot of fun for both.

What about potion making? (Outside!) Give them some random herbs and spices and water and let them have at it?

I’ve got 2 and 9. It’s tricky. Rock painting is the only one I’ve managed successfully for more than 5 minutes at home. Swimming is fine as well but the eldest swims pretty well.

Making pizza's is fun and a meal is made ! You can buy pizza dough so all you have to do is get them to roll it and decorate it with toppings.

Ditto for decorating biscuits - icing and sweets for decoration
