How old is too old for a career change?

I think I am currently going through a bit of a quarter life (?) crisis here Blush.

Long story short I am 32 and my work life has always been a bit patchy...I worked in catering for years, then retail and now am working in a very boring dead end admin job.

Recently I have been thinking that I would like to retrain and learn a trade but I have no idea if I am too old or even how I would get started at my age Blush.

Would I need to go back to college or would I be able to learn on the job/get an apprenticeship at my age? Would it look weird if a woman in her 30s was working as an apprentice plasterer for instance? Am I overthinking this or perhaps a bit crazy to even be considering this? Blush.

Until you are no longer physically able as it's a physical job. .
There must be loads of people retraining - I wouldn't be surprised to see someone in their 50s.

you have another 35 years of work ahead of you - longer than you've even been alive, it is not at all too late.

Definitely not 32 😄

Too old is at about 60, and even then only if you're starting to plan your retirement.

Good luck btw 😍

This 👆

I retrained and got a new career at 39. One of the best thing I ever did.

Go for it - and good luck!
