Jacob Rees-Mogg - what's the deal?

He somehow seems to fly under the radar of the media. I would imagine there's enough material there to stoke huge outrage if his actions were more widely reported on, but they never seem to be. He seems to have some special protection despite being clearly a terrible person. What is going on there?

Opposes abortion yet is happy to work for someone who probably forced a woman into having one.

Opposes abortion but profited from sales of abortion pills.

@ginoclocksomewhere glad you don't. But I often wonder what the people Of North Somerset see in the man. Is he (objectively) a good constituency MP?

BunnyBettChetwynnd · 11/06/2023 17:52

@explainthistomeplease Mogg is MP for North East Somerset. The MP for North Somerset is the disgraced former Defence Secretary Liam Fox.

Nothing wrong with a man who says food banks are a good thing? He’s an abhorrent little shit.

explainthistomeplease · 11/06/2023 17:59

@BunnyBettChetwynnd you guys really lucked out with your MPs then :/

Isn't it appalling.

Our only hope is that they take a total shoeing at the next election.

I doubt there will ever be any sex scandals re him having an affair (for obvious reasons) but I'm wondering if any of his children will break free from their bizarre seemingly cult like upbringing. They're being raised in a far more open world than he was making it much easier for them to be exposed to other influences than just his and his wife's. The way he parades his eldest son as a mini him is borderline cruel.

Plus he's financially profited from Brexit and clearly follows far right content

There's a danger the "character" act conceals a deeply unpleasant person.

You might dislike his views, but that does not make JRM a terrible person. He's a devoted husband and father.

Is that you Nanny?

He's one of those people who have the art of loading the gun and getting someone else to pull the trigger.

Personally those people aren't appealing to me but to be fair to them they also keep the self squeaky clean publicly.
