Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just having breakfast and my first cuppa of the day, in my spot in the kitchen. Marvin (as dd2 calls my stomach lately) was far too grumbly to wait for me to get outside to eat 🙄

I have the washer on already & will wash up last night's dessert pots shortly. I also want to clean the downstairs loo and mop in there before two of my friends come round for a catch up. It's been a bit neglected while I've been ill & desperately needs a proper clean & bit of bleach down it!

Dd1 is off into town to look for sparkly things to decorate her leaver's shirt with, and pick up a nail polish to go with her prom dress. She finally picked yesterday & got exactly the one she wanted, at exactly the budget I'd set!

I'm not sure what dd2 plans to do - I expect she'll spend her time upstairs since I have visitors coming, she only really pops down to say hello.

We'll roast a chicken for tea, but probably have it with salad rather than a full on roast dinner.

Tonight I'd like to re-do my nails for the week ahead but think I'll plan for an early night after those bits of cleaning this morning then visitors this afternoon - I expect I'll be tired 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

Dh collecting dd from uni for the summer. The house is spotless , fridge is full - in a few hours it'll be chaos , can't wait ! 😀

Hi. Its raining here just now and meant to be getting some thunder and lightening in a bit. Lazy days indoors I think.

Quick hoover around and organise stuff for school and work later but thats it. Ds will go to his grans this afternoon and dh will clean out the fish tank. Might stick a film on. Just waiting for my croissants to cook then its back to bed for a bit with my book 📖

Morning! I’ll still lolling around on the sofa but really need to haul myself into the shower in a minute.
DP has taken DD to her Sunday club, which she loves. I just hope she doesn’t come back covered in PVA glue like last time - we’re still chipping it off things, a couple of weeks on.

I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of my impulse-bought ice cream maker. Ominously, Amazon is saying it’s due by 10 pm. I want to now!!

Other than laundry, no real plans for the day. I expect DD will want to be in the paddling pool later. We’ve got some veggie sausages that need using up, so something soss-based for supper.

Im sitting in my hammock under the tree with the dogs asleep in the shade. Dh and hatched a plan yesterday to buy an inflatable kayak and kayak down our local river. (Plan was hatched after a few ciders). I've woken up still thinking it's a great idea and now trying to persuade Dh who is now not so keen!

Good morning @lucysmam another lovely day here with an early dog walk, then a lazy hour or two with coffee & catching up on social media & Mumsnet. Late night last night so slightly lacking in energy. Just about to put on washing load 2 then hoover the living room & study.

How wonderful that your DD was able to get that prom dress Flowers

DS came in at midnight last night after work & is still asleep. He'll need to do some revision today but may also see friends - he has study leave all week with only one exam on Thursday so we can cut him a bit of slack today.

Expect DH & I will wander into town with the dog at lunchtime if it's not too hot, otherwise it will be the doggy paddling pool in the garden & a long early evening walk. Dithering about what to make for tea, will see what DH & DS think.

Think that the thunderstorms that were forecast yesterday for today will pass us by but who knows!

Good morning everyone, we’re off to a friends house today as he recently bought two kittens, they’re now old enough and confident enough to have some visitors come and play with them. He also has a garden (we live in central London) so there will be some playing outside.

Tonight we’re taking our son to see the mario film, so the toddler will be staying with our friend for a few hours. It also means a few hours of aircon, we do have it in the flat, but we try to hold of using it in the day time and save it for night time so we can sleep well.

Greengreented · 11/06/2023 10:51

Well I’ve had an early start with the dog before 6am, been out for a walk and then I came back, dropped her off and went for a longer walk myself to utilise the morning, meaning I’ve already hit 10,000 steps! Now off to the in laws for lunch and to take dog for a very short walk in the woods (nicely shaded). Homemade burger for dinner tonight, and I have tomorrow off work 😀

maddiemookins16mum · 11/06/2023 10:57

I was up early in the garden before it gets too hot (for me). I made us all poached eggs on muffins for breakfast and have washed all the ‘winter’ throws and cushion covers etc and put the summer themed ones on/out).

I’m halfway through making a potato salad and coleslaw for dinner tonight (with cold chicken and green salad). DH is cleaning the cars.
I have some work to do for a few hours and then we’ll chill this afternoon before Church tonight.

DD (18) joined the Navy last month, so we won’t see her for a while (she’s loving it and is pleased her ironing skills are up to scratch) - she’s finding the physical side tough but improving.

I miss her but am so proud of her.

Just having my second coffee and breakfast on the patio, watching the cats sniffing the bin wheels were a mouse took refuge

I've locked the cat flap so she can't bring it in like yesterday

Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?
PurpleSky09 · 11/06/2023 11:08

Had a lie in for once (I'm usually up far too early) and now just relaxing on the sofa with a cup of tea. Will get up properly in a minute and spend 30 mins or so doing a tidy round, and then we are going to go to a park we haven't been to before for a walk.

Later I'll cook a roast dinner and try and find a film to watch on Netflix.

Susiesue61 · 11/06/2023 11:08

I’m still lying on my bed after a long day out drinking in the sun yesterday 😎 DH is taking DD to cricket soon, and DS1 is coming to watch me play in a tournament 😂

LemonDrizzle10 · 11/06/2023 11:37

Early dog walk here today as the sun is shining brilliantly again today.
I should be doing the hoovering and a bit of ironing but I am considering a nap on the sofa instead.
Left over Thai curry for tea and salad for lunch- neighbour brought a lovely lettuce over from her allotment yesterday.

GoddessOfFire · 11/06/2023 14:05

Not much here which wasn’t the plan. Hope you’re ok OP 🌻.

I’ve been food shopping as I didn’t need enough for a delivery this week.

Done loads of washing. Last lot is on the line. Ironing (some of it) before tonight.

A bit of gardening next. Then onto writing something I’ve been putting off for uni.

I’m away three separate nights with work next week which is a bit disruptive so I need to do what’s on my list. 🐈‍⬛ won’t be impressed.

🤞🏻my new 🪻🌻 pots survive while I’m away.

peachesandsweets · 11/06/2023 14:23

Afternoon everyone - hope we're all ok! @lucysmam your DD's dress sounds spectacular- am a big fan of enchanted era Taylor Swift!

We had a busy morning - toddler up at 6.30 sharp so went for a play on the beach at 8 - 10.30 before the crowds descended.

Came back and both DD and I napped - as am now 40 weeks pregnant and overdue!

This afternoon we're doing the food shop and my parents are popping over for a cup of tea (and I imagine to check on progress of currently baking DS and whether he plans to join us earthside anytime soon!)

lucysmam · 11/06/2023 08:28

@ThursdayFreedom you're right, it's more I care. Dd's dress is a lilac colour, with beaded bodice. She's channeling her inner Taylor Swift Enchanted from the Era's tour. It's one she'd seen in the local prom shop window & I had warned her it would be out of budget - which it originally was. It's absolutely beautiful & she's picked sparkly accessories to go with it.

Yours sounds like a nice, steady, day with the dog 🙂

@lucysmam

DD'd dress sounds pretty. Great they reduced the price!!😊

it was ok with the dog, but even in this heat he's high energy. I'm knackered, just got home & had a shower...ahhhhh
