Footballs and neighbour

Whilst I get footballs coming into your garden is annoying and when they hit your house or car it isn't good - but when it happens to me and they haven't caused any damage (it's never caused damage) I just chuck them back.. my neighbour has gone nuts about my kids footballs, to try to stop it we have one of the ball stop nets and a large goal - but one bounced off the crossbar and over the net and hit his van roof - no damage but he thinks it's too often.. the last ball that went over was 2 weeks ago, the kids aren't out every evening playing football, it's generally at the weekend and usually one ball... he keeps messaging me telling me how unacceptable it is and it's too many

I think the problem has been caused previously it at the point now where you’ve pissed him off that much it zero tolerance

You need to join your kids onto a football club or take them to the park twice a week to play football - no matter how far that is. No football in the garden now as your kids clearly can't keep the ball low so they can't play it - it's unsociable and pissing your neighbours off - why should they put up with that?

Yes I think this is the problem unfortunately - my kids are in football clubs and play football outside the house 2-3 times a week - my garden isn't small and is suitable for football. Though I like the idea of fitting something to the crossbar to dampen it a bit as this seems to be the only time it goes over as they do try to keep the ball low.

To be honest OP, 1-3 balls a month is still quite a lot, and hitting his car with the ball is unacceptable.

Totally agree with this.

Is that net at the front, driveway area?

I think they need some football coaching if balls go over that tbh!

If you can’t stop the footballs hitting his vehicle then the football should stop. Padding the crossbar sounds a good solution.
