'Wildflowers' packet germinated, but what the heck are they?! Plant ID help please

Given a packet of 'wildflower' seeds with absolutely no description. Now they've germinated, needing help with identifying them before I add them to my garden! Or not Grin Google lens not being so helpful.

They're all squat apart from No 1.

Plantnet is a good ID app to have. I use it whenever anything pops up in my garden that I haven't planted. First owner of my home was an avid gardener, second ones destroyed it but first owners legacy lives on and things pop up randomly.

Thank you @catmania I've just added that. I'd forgotten apps, as most were on my old phone. Smile

Hooray for your first owner! So sad when subsequent owners destroy it. Happened here a bit too.

I’ve got cut-leaved cranesbill coming up in my garden this year @MysteryPlants and it’s flowering now. They’re very inconspicuous flowers, but pretty.

3 looks like Nigella/Love in a Mist to me.

4 is somewhat like red campion (Silene dioica) but I'm not sure.

Ah that's really pretty. The tortoise likes these flowers too, so double win Grin Thank you Halsall.

Another vote for PlantNet. It is a very capable identifier.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 09/06/2023 19:38

1 looks like it could be Matthiola?

Is number 2 echinacea and number 4 foxglove?

Halsall · 09/06/2023 20:26

I thought this too, but are the leaves too thick?

Gherkingreen · 10/06/2023 13:59

It's not as much fun as guessing, but if you're still struggling to ID them and have a phone with Google Lens, point it at the plant and it'll come up with some suggestions - usually accurate from my experience when random stuff sprouts in the garden.
Last year I grew one single gladioli and have absolutely no idea where it came from! It's coming up again this year and am excited to see it again.

Try the Seek app. It's brill.
