How much does your car lease cost?

How much do you pay per month to lease your car? And what car is it? Just want to get an idea of realistically what figure I'd be looking at to lease.

I last owned a car about 10 years ago. Looking into getting one so I can more easily visit my aging parents, and have more adventurous weekends/trips away in the UK. It probably won't get used much in the week. (Looking for something practical rather than flashy or anything, eg. a compact car with decent boot space). Wondering if leasing is worth it or whether to buy a second hand car outright. My budget would be about £4k for buying.

Is it worth looking at a zip car if you will only use it on the odd weekend? I'd always buy outright rather than lease as would rather have an older car I own than pay and have nothing left at the end of it. Sorry know it isn't what you are asking but I did consider leasing but decided against it. Friends are happy leasing but are more interested in the newer car than me which I can totally get.

I just finished leasing a Mercedes GLC at £365 per month. It was a steal at that price back in August 2020 post-covid restrictions. Despite it being ‘cheaper’ than what is currently being charged for the same car, I wouldn’t lease again. It was my first and only lease car, I was charged extortionate amounts for the tiniest of scratches upon collection, all in all another £490 paid on top. As PP says, I have nothing to show for at the end of it. Now saving up to buy a decent second hand car

I pay £220 for a focus, but this includes servicing and tyres etc, oh and tax. A lot don't include maintenance.

I worked out how much I lost on my old car that I owned outright and it wasn't much different. Although like above, I do dread handing it back. Two of us share it so its only half that amount each, and we get a safe and reliable car, so there are benefits to it.

Porsche Taycan, about £1000/mth.
Sounds a lot to me, but it's run through my business and the spreadsheet person confirms that it's wonderfully tax efficient.

Not sure I'd have one again though. It replaced a Range Rover as I fancied something 'a bit sporty' but I swear it's wider if that's even possible!
