Myself and my partner are planning to go to Bournemouth for a few days - no children. What nice things are there to do/visit?

Depends on what you like, but The Four Horseman at the top of the high Street is a great 90's themed pub that has music and comedy gigs in it's 'micro venue' a small basement bar.

Not affiliated - don't even live near Bournmouth, but know it's worth a look!

Actually, you said 'nice', probably not your thing!!

If you're into art or museums at all you have to go to Russell-Cotes, beautiful idiosyncratic old gallery and on the seafront too. When are you there? It's open for free (donate anything) this Friday!

We did the red open top bus top, can use Tesco clubcard points, treble up in value till June 13th, I think. Nice trip out. It drops off near Compton Acres Gardens (to the west side of Bournemouth if you are looking in from the sea). Hegistbury Head (National Trust land) is the other way, out Boscombe way.
My favourite is Russell Coates museum. The wealthy owners of The Bath Hotel loved travelling and had a house in the grounds (now the museum) and it shows Annie & Merton's collections. Nice and compact but lots of detail so you can spend a while there. I just love the fact that they enjoyed their money and travelled.

Poole is lovely and just a bus ride away. Brownsea Island is fantastic.

Christchurch is great to visit, and you can get the boat out and then the land train to Hengistbury Head.

Bournemouth beach is beautiful, especially in the evening when less crowded. The aquarium is great and has penguins.

Chez Fred do great fish and chips!

Visit Brownsea Island and see red squirrels, the site of the first Scout camp and a church with no electricity.

I like to walk from Bournemouth along the front to the ferry at Sandbanks, take sandwiches for on Shell Bay and get the open top bus back to Bournemouth. It goes on the ferry back to Sandbanks which is a novelty 😊

In Bournemouth centre:
Go to the BH2 complex for a meal or to watch a film at the Odeon on any wet days / evenings.
Drink at 1812 in the Royal Exeter Hotel.
Walk through the Gardens (but not at night).
Do the Zip Line from the end of the Pier (if the Pier has reopened following last Saturday's tragic events.)
Walk from Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Pier and back (on the East Cliff side) or from Bournemouth to Durley Chine and back (on the West Cliff side).
Sunbathe on the beach & go for a swim; the sea is usually quite safe away from the Pier.
Go to the Aquarium on the Pier Approach.
Shop at some of the remaining places in town including the large Primark, Zara, River Island, Office, Schuh etc. sadly all the large department stores are shut.
But there are lots of restaurants & coffee shops to visit.

Walking to the ferry at Sandbanks from Bournemouth pier is 4 miles.
