I’m planning a trip for us to go to legoland in Denmark. Can anyone give me tips, hidden gems etc for around legoland there? Any tips to make it easy? First flights with children and am apprehensive!

You absolutely must spend a day in Lego house. Lalandia is also supposed to be great. Where are you staying?

Only have started planning so don’t know where we will stay yet :)

Yes, Lalandia is nice. Great water park. My tip is if you stay in Lalandia then get there during sociable hours. We arrived at around 10pm and were waiting around for ages for the security guard.

We went at the end of the 6 week holiday and Legoland was not too busy as the Danish kids are back at school.

And lastly I bought a combined Lego House and Legoland ticket which saved a bit.

Billund itself is a rather boring little village… i don’t know how long you’d wish to stay there. We did 1 day park - 1 day lego house - 1 day park, last time we visited. If you’re interested there are really nice viking musea in Ribe and Jelling which is sort of nearby.

If it fits in your budget then stay in Lalandia. If you want to cut costs you can go for the Lego Ninjago Cabin on the Legoland campsite. They are adorable and also in walking distance of the park.

We stayed in a Ninjago cabin. Basic but super fun. There's a shop and an okayish takeaway on side

If you're specifically planning to visit Legoland and don't want to combine it with a city break in Copenhagen for example, then fly direct to Billund rather than Copenhagen. I know that might seem obvious but maybe not. Flights to Billund can be really cheap (as little as £14 pp) and the airport is literally across the road from Legoland and Lalandia so no transfer required on arrival. We stayed in one of the little pods in the Legoland campsite which was fine for 2 adults and 2 under 8 in good weather but wouldn't fancy it if weather bad/wet. Lalandia looks great - basically but like Center Parcs subtropical paradise (or whatever it's called) and cabins minus the forest. Also options for hotels or Air BnB in Billund itself.
Have fun, we had a great time.

I’m going in August staying in Lalandia with a gold pass for activities, I can’t quite believe how cheap a holiday it’s going to be.. under 2k including flights and accommodation with activities! For the four of us, cheaper than a week at centre Parcs.

We've been before and combined it was other locations in Denmark (so flew into Billund and had 3 nights there, doing lego house and then Legoland). We then went to Bornholm (island - amazing time really recommend) and then to Copenhagen. Children were 8 and 4 and loved it all. So much so we're going back this year. Staying in Lalandia - children love water parks and lot of other activities to so. Will do legoland and Lego house again plus there is something similar to go ape near by which is also on the list.
