Your favourite city break with teens.

We’ve never been on a city break with our children (12 and 14) and would like to. Wondering if you can recommend your favourite place you’ve been. We would like to go in October but may have to wait until May to save up. I think the weather will be nicer in May too. Thanks for any recommendations.

Tapas can be child friendly too.

This is the weirdest comment ever. Children live everywhere. There is no where in Europe where I would call the food available 'challenging'. Certainly not for teenagers.

Haven't been on many city breaks but the whole family loved York

Big advantage of places like Copenhagen and Stockholm are that everyone speaks English as well (probably Berlin and Hamburg as well but I speak German so didn't notice so much). Copenhagen has bilingual signs everywhere.

One other suggestion: if your teens are doing languages at school, then you could also consider a city in a country where those languages are spoken.

Vienna is not dull!

Tapas would be challenging for me Grin. Spanish food is generally challenging for me. So are their eating times.

Yes York is great despite hen parties. Chester is quite similar and could be combined with Liverpool.

Took my teens to Berlin this year and they loved it. My top tip would be to book a free tour of the Bundestag before you go, or at least tickets to go up to the glass dome at the top of the building. I think the booking window opens 3 months in advance.

Venice and Rome worked really well with mine.

I'd say Paris as it's easy to get to and has lots of very "famous" things to tick off. My hard to impress DC actually gasped the first time they saw the Eiffel Tower from the distance Grin. (In NYC I got "Yeah it's another sky scrapper" and disappointment at how small the Statue of Liberty is Hmm ) Although Paris would be nicer in May than October.
