Latitude 2023 - Music Line-Up, Meh but Are the Other Tents Better?

I'm not keen on massive crowds; seeing a lot of litter and being around idiots, so the very last time I went to Latitude was in its first year in 2006. I loved it, purely because it was very low-key, music was right up my street (Anthony & The Johnsons; Regnina Spektor; Mogwai...) clean as no-one littered anywhere and it was fairly small. I'm looking at the line-up for this year, and I don't recognise many of them bar a few, and I'm wondering if it's worth going or not. I remembered the literature and comedy tents being fantastic, but I'm not so sure whether it'll be worth going as no doubt the festival has grown massively and I'm not sure if I will enjoy it or not. I shall be going alone (usually go to places on ownsome so not bothered by this). Is the Mind & Spirit Tent any good - do you pay for the sessions/workshops? Is the Theatre Tent still there?

I'm not so sure about visiting local small festivals as I'd rather go for music I know of rather than some randoms that I may not enjoy.

Hi oP. I went to Latitide a couple of years ago just coming out of Covid when things were still a bit limited so not sure if my reply will be helpful - I also went with 3 small children so missed a lot of stuff you might have been interested in!
I will say I felt very safe and it did seem clean - but I did camp in the family campsite and that might make a difference ?
I saw a couple of interesting musical acts on a different stage by a river ? And enjoyed a couple of alternative comedians in a tent in woodland area that wasn't the main comedy area.
I don't remember there being a theatre tent but that doesn't mean there wasn't one. I spent a lot of time in the children's field.
Swimming in the ponds was nice as an activity but got busy. To be honest - even in the more limited covid one everywhere felt busy - it's a big festival now- but still manageable.
Hopefully this might bump the thread for you for someone more knowledgeable!

Thanks for replying. I'm not too sure about the crowds. It pains me to go to the local events in my own city, so I can't imagine doing well in a very busy festival teaming with 1000s of people.
