... if you were a school teacher or leader:
- A stridently worded petition signed by multiple students/parents.
- A large number of letters that were angrily expressed and full of misunderstanding of the situation.
- A single, well argued letter from a polite parent who made it clear they understood and respected your position of authority, and appreciated your dedication to a difficult job, but nevertheless had some persuasive points to make.
For me (speaking as a parent governor who has seen various approaches used over the years), it would be number 3, and I'll never understand why some parents feel the need to stir up a shit-storm on Whatsapp etc, in order to publicly challenge and humiliate their children's teachers. If only people took a moment to put themselves in the teacher's shoes, and think tactically about the best approach, they might be more likely to get what they want.
