Putting integrated fridge into a normal cupboard -- anyone done this?

(Had this in property chat with no luck -- moving here in hopes that someone here can help!)

In our new house, the previous owners had their ordinary stainless steel fridge in a cupboard (not an integrated cupboard -- just a very nice, joiner-built cupboard.)

I don't love this as it means you have to open the cupboard, and THEN the fridge. The cupboard does look nice though.

I'm thinking we could get an integrated fridge, then get the joiner back in to make new doors and attach them to the fridge with a hook thing. Does this make sense and/or has anyone done it?

Thank you!

They are just normal cupboards. It's the way the doors attach that is important.

yes, just get the attachment. I had it in a house before and it was no bother.

I have a high spec, built in kitchen and the fridge/freezer is essentially in a cupboard but the doors are fixed together
