Holiday insurance - when do I disclose?

We have annual holiday insurance, which runs out on 20 June.

I had some bleeding, and was referred under the 2 week pathway, and had a hysteroscopy, and got a text back 14 days later to say sample showed no signs of cancer, and am taken off 2 week plan. I rang insurance company and told them I had investigation and was cancer free.

A couple of days ago, a month after the operation, a consultant rang me and said the sample had been taken from fibroid and not the womb/lining and I have to have another hysteroscopy (I thought the whole point of having up a camera under general anaesethic was to see where they were taking the sample from) Also the womb lining looked irregular. (Thanks for informing me, a month after the operation) I am due to have another general anaesthetic and hysteroscopy on Friday. And probably have another two weeks wait for results.

We have about £12,000 worth of holiday booked, and as I understand it, we are are covered until the commencement of the holiday, in July and in November, should we have to cancel.

I fully intend to disclose any results etc, but should I wait until I have results before I renew the policy? Bearing in mind, they charged £15 just to add the disclosure to my policy 2 weeks ago.

If it is positive, is insurance for cancer patients madly expensive?

Sorry to hear you’re going through this. We found holiday insurance for my mum who had secondary breast cancer. From memory it was a couple of hundred, which was a bit of a shock as the insurance for me, husband and child was £11.59 for the same holiday!
