I pulled my back very badly 4 weeks ago and ended up in a&e

Been on all different tablets , naproxem, Cocodamol, diazepam and diclofenac

Although the back pain is MUCH better and I am not taking no where near as many pain killers , I now have a trapped nerve going down my left leg . I mean it's no completely unbearable but it it painful if i walk to far etc

I am due to go on a hen party this weekend and I am concerned about how to cope with the waking etc!

I obviously need to make the choice if i drink and don't take many of the pain killers , or don't drink and take pain killers , but there is quote a few activities during the day that Involve a lot of walking etc, and many of the pain killers make me sleepy!

Yes I could choose not to go, but I am not I'm complete agony , just discomfort but I'm just looking for some some tips of how I may be able to relieve the nerve a bit!

I have been doing a few stretches etc which seem to help a little , and also have been wearing a back support (was told to do this by the hospital when I injured my back)

Stretching and if possible pay and see a physiotherapist. You need to keep moving with sciatica. Also look to your footwear and wear trainers or something that fully supports your foot. I got sciatica when pregnant and had one further flare up.

Do not drink at all and take painkillers.

Chap on utube with helpful pain relief exercises, very gentle and helpful.

I have this at the moment. It's very sore. I was going to suggest that maybe some distraction (such as Ben weekend activities) might help with the pain, but then I realised that was probably wishful thinking. My physio has suggested very gently mobilising my back as apparently it's worse when it gets stiff. For me this is gentle hip tilts, but not sure if this would be universal advice.

I managed camping with sciatica at 32 weeks pregnant! TENS machine op. Some small descrete ones and you can hire from Boots/other chemist if you don't want to buy.
