Will two days be enough time to see everything. I hope we don't have to rush around. We will be staying overnight.

Shocked at the price but promised the kids. We could have gone to Spain for this much.

The best time to go is term time in November.
Seriously, don't go peak times - it's hideous!

We've tried that but it's usually closed most of term time in winter apart from when specific events on - Wales has had different Feb and autumn half terms from England so thought we'd use that but found it was only open on weekends / maybe the Monday after English half term (when there are loads of inset days so no reply term time), so we never made it. Also found can't always use clubcard vouchers over things like Halloween / firework night events etc which is all it's really open for at that time of year

KirstenBlest · 30/05/2023 14:08

It will be fine. Take pac-a-macs so that if it rains you can still enjoy it.
Food and drink is expensive. The lego in the shop is expensive.

I'd say it's more for 5-8 yr olds.

Term time in September will be quiet.

Unless you live 100s of miles away then skip the hotel and pay for the reserve and ride thing instead. You can comfortably get round it in a day if you’re not spending the time queuing. About 5/6 is peak legoland age. They can go on all but 1 ride once they’re 110cm tall but at that age they are still young enough appreciate the small stuff too. If yours are younger or older then they will inevitably do less.

There are 6 water rides according to the website. Why does everything have to be so expensive these days?!
@Tead
I hope you all have a fantastic time! I'm very envious. When are you going?

My kids are 14 and 8 and I can't really take them out of school. Plus shit weather is more likely in November. Is it really that bad in the summer? Surely the water rides won't be open in late autumn?

It really is that bad. An hour and a half to 2 hours queue per ride.
The two water rides will probably be closed in Autumn yes but there's loads more to do and it's a different experience when the park is empty even if the weather is shit.

There might be quieter times during term time in June perhaps but I've never been then.

Cinnamonandcoal · 30/05/2023 14:20

I've done this. Two days including the hotel.

We got the queue jump things on one day. That's a big expense as it's per person. The other day we mainly looked at the Lego sculptures etc you don't have to queue for.

The hotel was fun but I would never go to the park in school holidays or a weekend. Only something like an inset day.

Crazy queues even for small rides like a basic merry go round. Massive queues for rubbish food. Some rides were great but whole thing felt like a rip off. If they had more staff everything would go faster and it would be a much better experience.

I would really avoid it unless you can go when it's not busy.

WelshNerd · 30/05/2023 14:25

@AutisticLegoLover Considering your username, look into getting a ride access pass via their accessibility scheme. That helps manage the queues.

If not the school holidays then when is best to go when you have school age kids?

Any random term time day - no LA fines for 1 or 2 days unothised absence.

6 water rides?! I remember one! 😱😂

I think their definition is a bit odd, like the fire engine one for little ones where they squirt water at the building is classed as a water ride. It’s hardly a log flume though!

AllIwantforChristmas22 · 30/05/2023 14:46

@FlounderingFruitcake ah that makes sense 😂😂

honestly OP my 8 year old had fun and wants to go again, I wouldn’t spend £600 for two days. Not worth it IMO.

turkeyboots · 30/05/2023 14:47

The hotel has lego brick shaped potatoes. DS thought they were so amazing, that and the in room treasure hunt totally made his trip.

jingscrivvens · 30/05/2023 15:54

We did Legoland last July, had 2 nights in hotel and 1 day in park. DS was 9 and he still talks about it, he cried when he had to leave!
We did get the virtual queue passes and it was worth it, we got on all the rides that DS wanted to go on, the only one we had to queue for was flight of the sky lion which was 1 hour long. DS would never have coped if we had to have done that for every ride, we met people that were queueing 1hr+ for every ride when we had to wait 10-15mins once we were in the queue. However we only had to buy 2 of them, DP is official bag holder. If you're having to buy more it is going to add up but they are cheaper the earlier you buy them.
It's something we'll only do once because we live so far away so justified the cost. Think it worked out about £650 not including food

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 30/05/2023 16:08

Enjoy your break. We are on our way to Alton Towers Hotel. 2 nights for £800. We could do it cheaper but don't want to.

We've been stuck on the m25 for 3 hours, I'll be thankful for the luxury hotel option with decent food on site when we finally arrive. Sat nav says just before 7.

mycoffeecup · 30/05/2023 16:13

Does that include fast passes? wouldn't do legoland without them
