I've name-changed because I know it's a time honoured tradition and I don't mean to offend anyone, but why would you do this?!

Has anyone been? Is it actually fun to watch? Or has anyone taken part? Did you get hurt?!

I'd heard it was steep but I hadn't realised how steep until I saw this video!

There's a documentary on it, presuming Netflix which shows the race and the participants, mad though they are!

I dunno, maybe a good cheddar with truffle and I'd say yes. I'd chase it. I'm not interested in winning the race so I'd not break a bone for it 😂

It's a really old tradition: it's not for the cheese, it's the fun and status of taking part and for keeping village traditions alive.

Why do people do anything they do? If you take the cheese out of it then it the same as those homemade local go kart runs people do or a sports day, bonfire nights or any similar small scale hobby really. In this country we seem to live anything that's an excuse to get together, but of competition and probably an excuse for a beer/picnic/a food stall.

Presumably they enjoy it, its a fun day out or a tradition that people locally enjoy.
