With me it was some old pink stained glass windows.

As soon as we both walked through the door, we knew straight away, it just felt like home. Seeing the rest of the house was weird because we knew we wanted it and it felt like it was already ours.
We then sat at the dining table for ages with the elderly owner after the estate agent left and had tea and Welsh cakes.
We bought it, then totally gutted it from floors to ceilings, windows, roof, the whole lot as it needed updating but it has retained that lovely feeling which is commented upon by everyone who comes here.

The garden was like an oasis.

I also think the owners. They were lovely, in their 70s having spent 30+ years there and raised their family. We were looking for a home where we could do the same.

The kitchen. We had a charming little house with a galley kitchen at the time, so walking into a 20x10 kitchen was lovely and we immediately realised it was suitable for dogs, which we wanted desperately.

Massive windows (and lots of light), the openness to the front despite being on a street (all houses are set back from the road) and the view from main bedroom to a local beauty spot.

Three little children playing safely in the street outside

The pool. It makes me smile every time I look at it. (I'm not in the UK, but I've wanted a pool for ever).
