For the last few years we have been storing things for a bootsale- kids toys books clothes shoes home items tools electrics ect
Anyway weve brought all the boxes in from the garage today to have a Good look through and rearrange it better and its now all really annoying the crap out of me as its sat in the hallway.
Id sell it all cheap anyway 10 p, 50 p, £1 just to get it gone but my husband said to me why don't you see what you can sell locally 1st as I've explained to him is it really worth all the hassle of taking photos and listing them for the sake of such little money. The point was to store all the stuff for the bootsale

Im already thinking next time were just get rid of stuff we no longer need to the charity or something!
Whats your view on stuff you don't need. Do you sell at bootsales locally or give it to charity

I sell at bootsales. I pile it up and sell it cheap to get rid and make a decent amount. I quite enjoy it.

It's stored mainly in the garage. It would annoy me in the hall. I tend to take stuff that hasn't sold to the charity shop after I've taken it to the carboot a couple of times though.

Just do a carboot if you have enough stuff, them hopefully your hall will be free again.

Yep we did a few. Sell everything cheap. We made quite a lot of money. Just sell everything for £1. If you have 400 things that's £400 and a clear house.

Boot sales do you sell at them?

No I park on a grass verge elsewhere so I've got £10 extra a week for the NHS.

I have sold at boot sales but now I give to charity. I stopped doing it as I could not stand the scrum of people breathing down my neck as I set up my stall. However early I got there there was a crush of other traders trying to get a bargain which they could then put on their stall and make a profit.

I had a ton of stuff from downsizing and did the everything for a £1 thing. Worked a treat and donated the rest.

As long as I get what I want for my stuff I don't really care what happens to it afterwards. Plus I just tell people to come back when I've set up.

RandomMess · 28/05/2023 20:53

We arrive early and park up and go for a wander. We set up once there are plenty of new arrivers several rows away as it stops you getting so jumped on.

It's always worth go for a look around your local car boots to get a feel for what things sell for easily.

Fathers Day is a good day to sell as are bank holidays - both Sundays & Mondays.

Stay to the bitter end, folk have money in their pocket that they want to spend.

MegaClutterSlut · 28/05/2023 20:54

I save unwanted items up all year round and do 1 or 2 bootsales a year and make around £500. More expensive stuff I sell on fb. It would take forever listing cheap items on fb, let alone having to wait in for people too. Total PITA imo and not worth it

Bananalanacake · 28/05/2023 20:58

Yes, the area where I live has no charity shops, ( but we do have a good second hand shop) it would physically pain me to throw good stuff in the bin, so I sell at carboot sales, I make good money getting rid of toys and clothes.
