Magpie fledgling on trampoline

Does anyone know whether I should I try to remove it from the trampoline or leave it where it is? The parents are aware of it and hanging around the garden a lot so everything seems fine in that regard. It can't fly yet and keeps flapping at the netting and pecking at it. I left the zip open but it just keeps walking and flapping into the netting on the other side. Will it still be able to learn to fly like this or should I try to put it on the ground? It is very exposed on the trampoline and a few cats have been in the garden but I've chased them out. Or maybe i should do the zip up on the trampoline so cats can't get to it so easily overnight?

Can you get on the trampoline and shepherd it to the opening? Maybe someone else could catch it on a blanket so it wouldn't fall all the way to the ground.

Take it off the trampoline as it is effectively a cage atm. Put it underneath and run. Magpie parents can be a bit mean. Any pictures? Grin

No pictures, sorry! It is cute and funny looking with lots of leg and very little wing. My husband went out with some oven gloves on with the intention of shepherding it out but it didn't want to move. It looked like it was going to sleep and then kept opening its mouth really wide like we were going to feed it, so he picked it up and put it on the lawn. We ran away thinking that it would move around or get to a more secluded place but it just curled up on the lawn. It was very exposed so we've picked it back up and tucked it underneath the kids water table next to the trampoline. There's some long grass there so it should be a bit more hidden for now. Can't put it underneath the trampoline because it's netted underneath too. I hope we haven't done the wrong thing! I'm going to feel responsible now if a cat gets it overnight.

Magpie parents are very protective. If they've seen where DH put it then it will have a good chance. Fingers crossed it will make it 💕

Any updates? I've been praying you didn't find a pile of feathers this morning.
