Am I just getting too old and prudish or does anyone else think the new advert for Eroxon tablets a bit inappropriate to be shown at 7:30pm and during daytime tv using the word erection in the ad. surely young children will be asking their parents what an erection is!

I don't see the issue with young kids knowing what an erection Is, they will have to know one day, and with young kids it tends just to be a word that means something not a sexual word. My daughter has seen an advert for erections pills, and she thought it was hilarious. It says lots of different words for penis. She is 10 it's not do her any harm

I feel the same, it’s embarrassing. There should be a rule this advert can’t be shown till after 9. I’m no prude

@Slitheringheights Glad it's not just me! I do feel tv goes too far these days with lots of things. I'm throughly expecting the vast majority to disagree. anything and everything seems to be acceptable these days.

In around 1986 when the Aids leaflet (Don't Die of Ignorance) came through every door my 6 year old read it and asked what a condom was. So I told her. Why can't people just answer the questions children ask.

LlynTegid · 26/05/2023 13:44

Aids leaflet is very different. No man dies from not being able easily to have an erection. I think only after the watershed is reasonable.

DiscoBeat · 26/05/2023 13:44

Yes I agree, it should be up to the parents to decide when to bring up the subject unless the child themself does (not by seeing a TV ad!)

Quite. Young children don’t have the hang ups of adults. A straightforward answer, they’ll say oh okay and move on.

CaptainMyCaptain · 26/05/2023 13:47

And if they're not ready to understand yet it will just go over their heads anyway.

I to am no prude and have just seen today an ad for erection issues, talking about getting turned on etc, between 5&6pm

For Gods sake...thonk of young children

MaidOfSteel · 20/07/2023 18:39

I absolutely agree, OP. Some ads just go way too far nowadays. An ad for a 'bloody mess' springs to mind, too.

CeriB82 · 20/07/2023 19:08

def should not be on tv at all

if a bloke has dick issues he will surely know to go to the chemist. The rest of us dont need to know.

Maggers49 · 25/08/2023 10:34

Yes, I am also appalled at the constant and repeated TV ads for Viagra (et al) all day from early morning. This is just not acceptable - keeping them to after 9pm would be my preference.
