Violence from child to parent.

I have read somewhere that violence from children/teenagers towards a parent is much more common that we think . It's just not spoken about because people feel ashamed and also there's not much help or support. It's often not taken seriously even by professionals.

This is not a debate post.or a thread to be little suffers by saying . Take his/her playstation away.

Any mums /dads out there who are suffering I hope you and your children manage to get the help you need.i hope one day it's spoken about more like domestic violence is from a partner.

I believe that some of the soaps have broadcast this storyline. Very sad.

Have they . I don't watch soaps. But that's good to hear definitely needs to be more awareness.

Any parents suffering from this - it is possible to self-refer to Children’s Services or ask the nursery / school to refer you. It is one of the criteria under the Supporting Families Programme which the Early Help Hub can provide support with.

Parents (mums) post on here regularly about violence that they have suffered from their children. It is terrifying and terribly sad.

Many many women are killed by their sons.

It's a horror that never gets spoken of.

It’s not just teenagers. It happens often with adult children to older parents but only often gets found out once it’s hit adult safeguarding level.

That's true . But they often get judged. And people who have not been through it or don't understand the situation will make comments such as " why do you allow it" "take his/her playstation" "ground them" " kick them out" people often don't truly get it .

I don't want to say anything negative as it may be of help to someone depending on where they're at with the situation sometimes things are to deep for help from early help. But of course it depends.

Yes. I’ve been a victim. My 11 year old daughter. SS got involved and somehow blamed me! There is no help. The police came to my house on multiple occasions. My neighbour rang them once. They did absolutely nothing said she was too young etc.

Just to add that daughters can be very violent, too (signed one who knows.)

Capa First Response is a brilliant organise for helping parents who suffer from harmful and explosive behaviours at the hands of their children (of whatever ages).
