What happens if you don't attend small claims court due to being unwell and physically unable to go ?

I have had a case going on for nearly 3 years, was meant to go to court a number of times but got cancelled for numerous reasons (because of the courts nor myself or the other person )

I don't want to go into to much detail , but I am due in court very soon, but I am physically unable to go there due to an injury which is preventing me from being very mobile at all (have a doctors note)

I will obviously make the court aware , but what will happen because of this ? Its been going on far too long now and inam completely stressed out by it as it is, without now having this issue

It is a motor claim . Was originally 50/50 but other person decided to pursue and fight it

Surely if you give the courts enough notice it will be rescheduled until you can attend. If you just don’t turn up I’d guess they’d find in the other persons favour. Is there absolutely no way of you attending?

Can they allow remote attendance?

How much money are we talking about here?

@TheFireflies I never thought of this. I'm assume this is something they may be able to consider when I do contact them, which I would be more than happy to do if need be

Are you actually giving evidence?

If not, I think you can send a representative on your behalf.

But courts are quite good about remote attendance since Covid.

@ChocChipHandbag yes I believe I am giving evidence. (Meant to remember something that happened 3 years ago in detain) when I was originally told it was going to course ,I was informed I could have a representative, but they then changes their mind
