Posted in Menopause but not sure if I'll get a speedy response so thought I'd try here...sorry it's a long one!

My periods stopped 2.5 years ago. So, I am officially classed as post menopausal.

I started HRT (Utogestron? And Oestrogel - 2 pumps) 8 months ago.

All was well for a couple of months and then I had a smear of blood. The following month, I had what I'd describe as a proper period. 2 weeks after that finished I had a two week period with extremely heavy bleeding like nothing I'd ever had before.

I was sent to be investigated and it turns out that I had a polyp which they removed and I had the Mirena Coil put in. So now I just use the two pumps of gel.

I bled for a couple of weeks as expected and then it stopped. A couple of weeks after the bleeding started up again. Non stop for weeks in end but a steady flow (not exceptionally heavy).

The GP put me on more progesterone tablets for a month which stopped the bleeding.

As soon as the tablets ran out, the bleeding started up again. A steady stream but with clots appearing in the toilet when I go to the loo and I can really feel the blood coming out - Sorry TMI!

Yesterday, in the shower this clump of tissue came out (see pictures).

I'm getting worried now. I've been bleeding non stop for 4 months daily (apart from when I was on the extra progesterone pills for a month). I'm feeling exhausted.

I went to the docs today. Saw a male GP and he couldn't even pronounce the hormone names or the medication names. He really didn't seem to have a clue.

Showed him the tissue that I found on the shower and he didn't even properly look at it. Just a cursory glance and said it was a clot. It's not a clot. It's actual bodily tissue.

I honestly felt like I was talking to someone who'd walked in off the street rather than a GP!!! He said to try the Utogestron again for a month and see how it goes.

I'm worried.

Can anyone tell me why I'm bleeding and what the hell this tissue is?

Sorry for the long post!
